Because the leagues are going up to 24 teams. After next season there will be 4 teams going down.

Presumably therefore a total of 8 promoted from next level next season? This sounds like another step towards the 'perfect pyramid' of non league structure (24-48-96 etc). Long term issue remains the imbalance between north and south.

Correct. The teams were given the option of how many teams they wanted in the division and they went with 24. What is happening this season with only two of the play-off winners going up is a bit of a farce and its even worse for step 4 teams going into step 3. Having said that we would still be in trouble if 4 teams were going down this season.

Imagine all of those extra highlights videos for them to put 30 second adverts every minute through!

Hopefully this will mean the season gets extended by a couple of weeks? There’s already too many midweek matches (especially at the start of the season) so I’m not really sure that making the leagues bigger will be a good idea

It would seem the only way we would stay south is if Bishops Stortford won the play-offs as they are further north than us and they aren't guaranteed to be in them yet.

Imagine it will mean that like the National League, who already have 24 teams, we will play more weekday matches at the start of the season to fit them all in.

I just hope they're not all on Tuesdays!
Pitying people who need to drink alcohol to have a good time since 4th June 2017.
