    Meadow Park

    Surprised nothing has been posted about this. As of Friday evening;

    "BREAKING NEWS - We can confirm that this evening, the full planning application for the new stadium layout revisions has been submitted to Gloucester City Council. The application will be validated in due course. Alex Peterham, director, said "This is a massive & necessary step forward in the journey back to Gloucester. Following consideration of all options, we believe that these revised proposals provide the best opportunity for the club to return during the 2019/20 season. We urge all supporters to get behind the scheme, as well as the subsequent funding bids, so that we can deliver this project as soon as possible".

    B Grading requirements;

    The Stadium must have a minimum capacity of 3,000 calculated by a competent person in accordance with the guidance given in the Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds (Green Guide). There must also be potential to increase the capacity to 4,000 in the future and a Club must, by the 31st March following the date of inspection, demonstrate how this capacity can be achieved.

    By 31 March in the third consecutive season of membership at Step 2 clubs must have at least 500 covered seats, with 250 of these seats being located in one stand. If a third consecutive season is not reached (i.e. a club is relegated to Step 3 during this period) the club would have a further three years to achieve 500 covered seats upon promotion back to Step 2.
    NB: existing Step 2 members (as at the commencement of the 2018-19 season) who do not possess 500 covered seats as per the above, will have until 31 March 2021 to do so.

    Covered accommodation, which should preferably be on at least 2 sides of the ground, must be of sound construction of timber/steel/brick/concrete or any combination of these materials.

    Temporary structures will not be accepted. Note: In Category A stepped terracing is required behind both goals unless the overall ground capacity is achieved with the exclusion of one or both of these areas.

    Looking at the previous plan (if it's roughly sticking to that) there was only 275 seating so wouldn’t meet even B standard anymore. This proposal sees 2 x 350 seater stands being built. (700 total). This would meet both B (current requirement) AND A for National League entry. However the overall capacity of the stadium hasn't been divulged, but has to meet 3,000 for our level (4,000 one above)

    The North Stand, which is where the covered terrace was meant to be originally, was 663 standing for phase 1. East (open standing) was 725 but if there is a 350 seater stand there now you’d assume that amount could be halved, likewise on the other side. There was an estimated 450 standing behind the other goal (they could of course put a seating stand behind one of the goals instead of down the side which would increase the overall capacity).

    Plans should be viewable early this week you'd imagine.

    Is it Christmas this year we are looking to be home roughly?

    Originally yes, but this is subject to the same timelines as any planning amendment so will need 13 weeks consultation time. "Could" push it back further. You'd imagine/hope there would be no issues with anyone attempting to scupper it given it got unanimous approval last time, it's the financial outlay required to build it that is the hurdle I'm concerned about.

    Had a call from Alex earlier.

    Just wanted to reassure that they are fully aware of all the criteria required, and the capacity of Phase 1 MP will be 3208 on the opening day, with the capability to double that by developing the long side opposite the new stands.

    I think it's fair to say he sounded pretty bullish!

    I have utmost faith in Mr Petheram, he is a man of action not words.

    Chris and Rod will be on BBC Radio Gloucestershire tomorrow morning from 8:15

    3208 is pretty decent considering the capacity of the terrace seemed rather small.
