    Hospitalty

Having won the second prize in the trust Christmas raffle I thought yesterday would be a good day for my guests and myself to enjoy a day out. On arrival we were escorted to the directors room to be greeted by Mim who had a table laid for us. After we had drank our tea and read our programmes we were introduced to the chairman a very amiable Rod Jenner and Chris Gage. They up dated on the progress at Meadow Park and exciting ideas they have for next season some of which we have heard before but you cannot question their enthusiasm We were then served a hot meal and more tea, Joe settled for the cider. We were invited to sit in the directors part of the stand but declined the offer More tea at half time and delicious lemon sponge cake which Mim had baked . The game was end to end stuff with city on top most of the time but they almost managed to throw away a 3 nil lead and only a Gordon Banks type save by James Hamon (who was my man of the match) kept the points in Gloucester (Evesham) So many thanks to everyone who made it such an enjoyable day.

    Well done Ken!

Best bit of news about the ground, is that the grass seed has been ordered for sowing the pitch!

Which would look like we are not having a 4g pitch after all!

I spoke with Rod Jenner also - an amiable chap. He said we will lay the ground ASAP to check drainage issues...
Also we will build with a terraced and covered T end and main stand initially. We will have another full season at Evesham apart from perhaps training games next spring. As said the A class ground bit will come once we are back home......

Yes was very impressed by the hospitality and also the discussions with Rod and Chris. I was surprised at how engaged, committed, and also how up to speed and invested in the new stadium they were. A good day had by all, almost marred by a late collapse on the pitch!

I have no doubt in their enthusiasm and ability to fill out the correct forms and attend the appropriate meetings, what I and most others are concerned about is the ability of the owner to build the ground, given the past eleven years have been somewhat of a slow, drawn out shambles littered with errors and oversights

Well until someone comes up with a better idea this is what we are stuck with . People have been ranting and raving for eleven years but no has found a solution yet.

Notable how the 18 months at Evesham has now crept to a full two years..

Apparently the league won't allow us to move half way through the season thats what Rod Jenner and Chris Gauge have said anyhow - I am sure Brandman would confirm if this is the case? In that case 18 months was never an option.
Rod Jenner said the vital part is getting back to Gloucester and a GL postcode for sponsorship etc...
I believe Paul James is now on the Management committee (he wants City back on his shift apparently) along with two Marketing Gloucester seniors.
E.M.G will lose even more credibility if its not done for the start of 2019/20 season with some influential people in the business community and City
Lets just hope he has a number of influential people with his arm behind his back "spurring him on this time"- but time will as they say tell!
