Not an ex player but a record worth talking about:

    Ben Whitehead at Cirencester.

    2017/18 - 48 apps 47 gls
    2018/19 - 29 apps 30 gls

If we were a championship club and a player had those numbers in league 1 or even 2 they would take a punt on him however I canít believe that the club donít know who he is so Iíd imagine there something that makes a move a no goer.

Maybe he doesn't want to play for us, is happy at Ciren, doesn't want the travel etc etc. Some players like being being fish's's in a small pond - shame really but only the lad himself knows what's in his head. White probably.

Mat Liddiard scored again yesterday. Let's re-sign him!

If you watch a number of the games in Cirencesters league, compared to conference level, there is a massive difference in physicality and speed. The players can often be quite young. Whitehead is not the biggest of players.

There is a huge gulf between the league's and i think the quality is well down on where it used to be. Think mangos captain could do a job at right back tho, pace to burn, quality tackler but haven't seen anyone else stand out

He’s at his playing level! Enough said.

Precisely- another player of his goal scoring prowess is Lewis Powell - scored for fun at lower levels - tried it a bit higher and never really made a impact. This is not a reflection on any individual Matt Liddiard being a classic example.

I to go to Ciren/Slimbridge level league games if City are to far away and the leagues are poles apart.

Yeh Lewis Powell is a goalscoring machine at that level. Quality but he is not a player who really puts a shift in and sometimes it's like playing with ten with him in the side. The story was he was offered 4k to join Evesham and he wasn't there long before off to Taunton.
