Just some times a game comes along.............

The U15 set off from a rather dull and dark City early this morning knowing that we would have to be at our very best to get a result at unbeaten league leaders Brackley Town. If this was not a big enough challenge, the early start was a bit too early for a couple of lads who did not get to the pick up point in time.

We arrive at Brackley in good time - those with maps and paper (me) going the direct and quick route. Those with sat nav (not me) enjoyed a scenic tour of the Cotswolds. The power of technology!

The game started well for City with Brandon Preece putting City into the lead, but by half time, the tide had turned. City were 3-1 down and had a battle on to stay in the match. I say battle, but we had played well and if it were not for a quite superb save by the Brackley keeper the half time scores would have been much closer.

The ref blows his whistle and off we go..........

Ollie Fitt strikes 3-2 and City are in with a shout

Jivan Bryan-Munro makes no mistake. 3-3 and the Tigers are roaring

Brandon strikes and suddenly we are 3-4 up .........could we get the points

The ref gives Brackley a free kick on the edge of the box. It looked a good challenge to the rest of us. Over comes the ball, there is a scramble, is the City keeper impeded, a scramble on the line. Liam our keeper has the ball in his hands but did the ball cross the line.............yes according to the ref it did. A harsh call but the ref gives what he sees and at 4-4 it looks as though it might not be our day after all.

As I have said on here many times, be careful when you put a Tiger into a corner as he has a habit of coming out fighting. And so did the U15. The ball ends up with Brandon again...........he shoots............and yesssssss we are back in the lead again.

How long lino? 2 mins plus stoppages. Thats 120 seconds which seemed to go on for ever but the ref blew and the Tigers won a famous victory, sportingly received by Brackley Town

A great game and sure to be one of the highlights of the season

The other scores

The Under 12's drew 0-0 at home to Studley. The U13 played Kiddy who has a forward who by all accounts is attracting interest from many league clubs - but that did not stop the lads recording a superb 3-1 win at The Spa. The U14 remain unbeaten with a 2-1 win at Romulus. The 16's went down 4-2 to RC Warwick and the First Team lost 2-0 away to Bedford
