Was in Waterstones earlier and saw said book in a decent location amongst the sports section. 2 things came to my attention;
1. Two school kids waked past, 1 with a Man Utd shirt on and the other with a Chelsea shirt on... 1 of them saw the book and said "Gloucester City? Who watches them?". Obviously being away from Gloucester for so long doesn't help but I do believe we are missing a generation here. Cheltenham seemed to have a good idea of offering schools in the county free tickets, we don't want to loose potential support from that. Kids are now the Sky generation and sadly the majority are glory hunters who latch onto teams for success reasons without any sense of local pride or loyalty. We are never going to change that but would be nice to at least get a load of youngsters down just so they can see we exist (even I'll put up with their screeching)
2. At the end of the book, a certain terrace ditty appears, however without mention of the song creator-one Roberto Carolgees.... I do believe that is an infringement on my human rights.
Mr Clark - See you in Strasbourg ;)
