Well TiG is an utter joke.

When one of the major headlines is "Someone rammed my car deliberately" you begin to see why people don't bother buying the paper(s).

Combine such fascinating output with an editorial team that seemingly doesn't have access to a dictionary, thesaurus or rudimentary grammar check facility, you have a winning combination.

No offence to Gloucester, but Cheltenham are the only football league side in the county that play the better football overall. People will be attracted to this valid fact and it needs to shouted out to all the public of Gloucestershire in any form of media.

Not by the Gloucester paper it doesn't. Especially when it appears to be endorsed by said publication.

Do they Echo carry banners encouraging the people of Cheltenham to go and watch Birmingham City and Aston Villa because they play "the better football overall" and they're the only Premiership sides within an hours travel?

Great escape? Have CTFC been in the relegation zone this season? I have found it quite odd this last few months, reading the pesimism on the Robins nest, with some posters virtually giving up on staying in league 2. With only one relegation place, Darlo kindly seeing to this quite early (Sorry Penno), I have always thought it very unlikely they would go down. Just goes to show that crossing your fingers is a pointless exercise.;) Look forward to the corresponding City mention in the Echo!

BTW Malabus, don't hotlink attachments from this forum to other websites please, I pay for the bandwidth to be used here and here only.

It's an advertisment isn't it. I imagine it would have been possible for Gloucester to have put something similar before last Saturday. They would have had to pay for it no doubt.

I imagine this sort of thing is one of the thing Eammon McGurk means when he says Gloucester should have a more professional outlook.

I don't think it is an ad, why would it be endorsed by Gloucestershire Media if it was?

There is also an 1/4 page notice towards the front of the paper as well......and to think I only got the paper today for my boy who wanted the free snooker tokens!!!

Gloucestershire media, like radio glos, is run by cheltenscum fans...they rely on the support of the local media to survive, we get no support yet get promoted despite not having a ground. therefore we are the pride of Gloucestershire, and scum fans will be lining our coffers when they turn up in their droves to watch an entertaining side next season.

I dont get the Great Escape part. They been pratically safe, for a while and it hurts me to say it, are a mile better than Grimsby! The way the advert is, it`s like they were moored at he bottom of the League by a country mile and managed to get out of it... SCUM

You think that ad is bad, you should hear some of the fans doing the tune in recent matches. As others have said, we've not once been in the bottom two all season so why it's The Great Escape is beyond me.

Well the latest City news on TiG is from 24th March...

Because one week from today we play Darlington at home and we could be potentially just one point from relegation. We need the people of this great county to get behind their only football league club ; even if it's just for one game to cheer the Robins onto a MIGHTY victory and help to secure safety.

We are also one of the few football league clubs that charge realistic admission prices for entertaining football league soccer, it wouldn't be fair to the people of Gloucestershire if we didn't tell them that they have a wonderful football league club on their doorstep.

I hope to see more adverts everywhere in Gloucestershire promoting Cheltenham Town.

Cheltenham Town is CHELTENHAM's football team, it has nothing to do with the rest of the County.

They missed the disclaimer at the bottom stating the risk of long term neck damage from watching the ball being hoofed into the air for 90 minutes by the Cheltenham defence.

My mate is a Robins fan and his neck had a easier time watching the Fairford air show last year..and he went on both days.

I'll be paying the entrance fee and the entrance fee alone at WR. Will be locating pre- and post-match pub during pre-season
