It's been another good week, results wise, for all of the GCAFCYD sides, with none of our teams being beaten by our opponents. First up this week were the Under 18's who took on Conference outfit Forest Green Rovers in the FA Youth Cup. The result was a resounding 3-0 win for the Tigers with striker Alex Cuthbert getting a hat-trick. This was an impressive result all round and sets up another home tie against Mangotsfield United in the next round.
Today, pride of place must go to the Under 13 squad who secured a superb 7-2 win at home to Rugby. Although unbeaten so far this season, this was the lads first victory of the season and I am sure the result was enjoyed by players, officials and parents alike.
The Under 14 squads results show that hard work does bring results. I know that Darren and his players have been training hard for some weeks, two sessions this week I believe, and this must have played a part in a great 4-2 away win at Boldmere St Michael. This makes 3 wins out of 3 for the lads. This week goals were scored by Greg Ritsch (2) Kai Johnson and Alex Ferson.
The Under 12's are also unbeaten this season, today winning 2-0 at home to Brackley. That's 3 wins and 1 draw this season.
Over at Hartpury, the Under 15's came from a goal behind to secure a 2-2 draw against unbeaten Kidderminster Harriers thanks to strikes from the prolific Mark Ford. If it's goals you want, then Fred Gitting's Under 16 squad are the ones to watch. Last week they came out well on top in a match with 8 goals and believe it or not, they were involved in another 8 goal thriller this week as well securing a 4-4 draw with Mangotsfield United.
This is a great set of results for all the teams and congratulations are due to all concerned
