Just to let you all know that the U18's beat FGR U18's 3-0 in the FA Youth cup last night. A great team performance meant that FGR had very few meaningful shots and once city had scored they never looked like losing. Next qualifying round they have Mangotsfield.

A good and well deserved victory for the lads watched by a healthy crowd, including at least 2 club scouts (and possibly some cub scouts as well!)
GCAFC owe a debt of thanks to all at Slimbridge who worked so hard to allow the game to go on. The pitch was prepared superbly, and the support and friendship we were shown by John Mack and his team was excellent.
Thanks are also due to Dave Phillips and John Cooper for looking after the turnstile areas and to Julie Messenger to providing the post match players food. I also should thank Heather and Katie for driving John down to the match. Neither Julie or Heather watched the game, but they still came down and helped, which is fantastic.
Simon and his Dad were their in the press box and hopefully a match report will appear in the paper soon
Next up we are at home to Mangotsfield, another tough tie which both clubs will be relishing. Date and venue to be confirmed.
Gloucester City Youth development dedicated last nights game to Don King, a great champion of local youth football and good friend, who passed away 2 years ago this month.

gloucester were stronger and bigger i think - FGR had a lot of small young lads in their team. sam ellis and josh hemper looked good for gloucester.
