This game has taken on an even larger significance after the weekend's poor showing for both our teams.

I've been looking forward to this one since the draw was made so much so that myself and a group of friends have sponsored the match(under the name of my mate's business- JK Plastering and building).

So I hope you bring plenty of fans, for our part we've made an extra effort in putting up posters etc, probably at least twice as many as usual. Plus the Supporters Club will be up the Yate Town Precinct on Saturday morning selling tickets for a balloon race and advertising the match, so hopefully we'll have a few more than normal there.
Don't forget gate reciepts are split (three ways inc the F A I think) so the more there, the more cash for your club too!

At half-time we get tea/coffee in the management/hospitality lounge( you know, the derelict little portakabin with the dodgy sofas behind the dugouts) so if you want to join us, Tigerroar, come over and make yourself known. I can't remember if there's a bar in there or not.

Anyway 3-1 to Yate and a crowd of 420( I hope);)

To be honest I'm not looking forward to the match one bit. It's almost a game that we can only lose because we all want a cup run, or maybe we all NEED a cup run. It isn't the kindest of draws for either team and it isn't a ground where we've enjoyed ourselves in recent years.

One thing though, at least our away form is better than our home form...

This is by far the most significant game of our season so far.

We've had so much heartbreak in the FA Cup over the last 20 years, lets hope this year could be the one.

I hope Yates Jnr finds a seat in someone's car. He is the sort of fella we need to encourage. I enjoy all his postings, even including his rant the other day.

I haven't checked but I'm sure Yates jr could get a train from Gloucester to Yate, they're on the same line. Can't be that expensive.

I'm surprised some of you think that only 150 will travel, and that's not a critiscism BTW, when 300 or so are travelling to the New Lawn every week. It's not much further to Yate is it?

I know this is nothing to do with me, but my ex used to live in Yate and I made the journey on the train a few times. The station is an unmanned station, and is not the best lit. For closeness to the ground, it's not all that far, but a little tricky. Yatesman will probably correct me here, but I'm pretty sure it's left out of station, first right after the bridge, then straight over the next roundabout, the just follow the signs. It's not far but roughly 15-20 mins walk.

As I said, my directions might be wrong (I haven't been down there for nearly 3 years).

I put up a post a second ago to aid Yaesyjr with the train to Yate and now its gone. Is there a reason for this?

Yatesy, if you remind people towards the end of the week then I'm sure they're will be a space somewhere. Make sure this post rises to the top around Thursday night onwards. You'll be OK
