Good luck to Wilko, he has contributed so much to City's progress over the last five or six seasons and has scored many great goals in that time.
Good luck in the future and hopefully you'll see more regular action and start bagning them in again

Yeah - he has been a great player for the club. Always battled hard and gave 100%. Sad to see him go.

Good luck Wilko, you've been a great servant to the club and I'm sure you'll remain a supporter. Hope its not the last we see of Luke, he has plenty of potential, maybe a break away will focus his mind, and he'll come back wanting to fight for his place.

Good Luck Wilko.
A player who never gave less than 100% for the Tigers and had a knack for scoring important goals.
Hope to see Luke back soon 'cos he has a lot of potential to be a very good player.
Best wishes to you both.

Real shame to see Wilko go, I thought he had done enough in his few appearances this season to prove he could still play a role in the team. Good luck at Cinders Dave.
I hope Butts doesn't give up, he has had a tricky start to the season but there is undoubted ability.

Yes all the very best Dave.... I think Tim is making a mistake but hey some great memories anyway.. Came as a bit of a shock to me 'cos I thought you had maybe started to get back to a bit of form after the ankle op'.... Oh well at least Cinders do have a ground eh?:thumbsup:and if this lot keep playing like they did on Saturday you might pass us on the escalator at the end of the season....
Butts,,,, You are good enough to get into any side in this league so don't be put off.You did'nt really get a long enough run to settle in... So good luck and expect to see you playing at a higher level.. Max

Good luck to you Dave.
100 per center at all times, and a few crucial goals thrown in for good measure!
Luke also was by far our most acomplished true left back.
I hope we see him back soon.

I've been hastily rewriting Wilko's page on TR (http://www.tigerroar.co.uk/davewilkinson.php). It's amazing what the human mind can remember - I have reports to fill in the gaps but if anyone can give a good written description his goals I'd appreciate it :)

Good luck to Wilko, one player who would always give 100% and will be sorely missed.
Hopefully Luke will be back soon aswell

Agree with all that has been said in this thread already.
Wilko always gave 100% and scored some cracking goals - cant believe he got 44 in total though!
Hopefully Luke will be back as he looks as though he has great potential and could do really well at City.

His goal against Hemel is on YouTube!

Shame to see him go, one of our most loyal players and a great servant to this Football club. His goal against Aylesbury away I will always remember, simply stunning goal.

The three Wilko goals that stood out for me:
Volley against Aylesbury
Shot from outside of the box against Merthyr
Overhead kick against Salisbury
Thanks for your efforts Wilko, whatever you lacked in skill you always made up for in giving 100% :notworthy:

And the Winner, after they had been all over us and had two players sent off, against Sutton Coadfield in the last minute, a wonderful header into the roof of the net.
A perfect steal!

I remember thinking what a great player he was that day before he scored!:o
The common thread here is that Wilko always gave 100%... not sure all our squad can say that already this season .1 or 2 went missing at Swindon!!!

thats the problem some of the better players have gone missing we need them to start performing week in week out

Some! a lot have gone missing at home, WHY, we have the players on paper to do really well in the league, at least play off positions, anybody got any ideas?

Losing Tom H and Lyndon T has been a big blow, since then it appears "Mr Presents" wears a City shirt.
Jason Welsh is needed in central defence at Yate on Sat; both to steady the ship and to organise the rest, as he did at Tivvy, twice!

Mango's have got a tidy new Defender signed on.
Neil
10th September 2007, 07:23 PM
I don't think they have you know. I always get the impression that his list of previous clubs are much more impressive than his footballing ability. I understand that he was offered to us before he went to Mangoland and I'm quite happy that we've got Jamie Price instead :)

weve got a tidy team but at the moment that means nothing as we keep losing we need to play the best team and stick with it for a month let players get used to playing with each other,to be honest its a must win saturday

Was Lee Smith signed in time to play in the cup match on Saturday?
It would be a pity if he fails registration clause.

Spoke to him Sat and asked him this and he said he's eligible to play!
Need to get Welsh in at the back and sort things out and put Richards into the centre of midfield!
Good Luck Wilko and thanks for everything! Soooo remember that goal from the edge of the penalty box @ Aylesbury! From I can rember it was late in the game and seemed to be going over however dipped under the cross bar!
Also good luck Luke! You are a good player so come back soon please!

i think your right there neil - never really set the pitch alight at the old lawn and not impressive. surprised that salisbury took him in to the blue square premier but there you go! he's second in the pecking order behind another former FGR player they have - jamie price is a much better aquistion.

Overhead kick against Salisbury
Those were the exact same 3 I was thinking of! That volley was something special.
Thanks for all your commitment Dave. I think 'Wilko-like' could be a new adjective, for a player who gives 100% effort, 100% of the time.
Good luck at the Causeway.

His best goal for City was in the 3-5 defeat at Tiverton in the "Piss Off e***n" game. Bouncing ball to the far post and with his back to goal at the far post he just deftly lifted the ball up and over Mark Ovendale who was rooted to the spot and had to stand and watch the ball drop in. Great goal!
