Slowly but surely, more and more people are beginning to realise just how much GCAFCYD has developed over the last couple of seasons and just how good our coaching set up is. It’s an exciting time to be involved with such a good group of coaches, parents and of course players. As ever, though we could do with some more helpers. In particular, I am looking for somebody that could act as Press Officer for the club. The role primarily involves compiling articles for the Citizen and our match day programme. There is no need to attend matches in person, the league website and coaches will be able to let you have the raw data you need. I cannot over emphasise to you just how important it is for us to make sure that the outside world see what great things are going on. The Citizen have a superb Young Sport section in the paper and now an even better website as well. I have been doing this in the past, but having now added the roles of Welfare Officer and Under 15 Secretary to my growing list of jobs, I am struggling to get the time to give the job the emphasise it really requires. If you are interested, please give me a PM

On the subject of reports, Simon will be carrying on doing his magnificent match reports of the Under 18 squads this season. I have said it before, but he has a real talent, and we are fortunate indeed to have such well written reports in the paper.
