Just Got Back After leaveing 5 mins early
and that was a load of rubbish
How can we play good one match (tues) and so bad on another
They wern't a good side
Cant Tim see the big hole in the centre of defence !
And all the Mid grouped up in the Centre of the park!

Every Shot Sykes had went over the stand
Muzzie didn't look good
Griff and Welsh didn't look lively (apart from Griffs Goal)
Reidy, webby and Smithy played well but that was about it :notworthy:
and what was that bald linesman all about:tosser:
We all said at the start of the season we need defenders and we got loads of midfielders who don't all get a game.
Tim needs to get rid of 3 or 4 players and get a good or 2 good center backs cos thats what were lacking PULL YOUR FINGER OUT LADS !!

--Rant Over--:D

Come on get Pitcher Back

Tatics is the key.At home, with the best pitch in the league we continually waste possesion by hoofing the ball up field.Yet when we played fgr we played it on the deck, played some great football and matched a team 2 divisons higher. We have the players so why are we playing whack it and hope style?!Nice to see Smudge back in a city shirt,he brings pace and width to the team.Shame we constantly by passed him then. Brackley played direct, and it worked.2 very good goals for them out of the 3.But again we looked vunerable in defense.Presently at the back we have no height and look sluggish whilst in midfield way too many times 2 or even 3 of them hesistated to challenge for the ball at the same time.New personnel needed big time.We need a big, horrible git at the back that is going to give the team a bollocking.Regardless of injuries we dont have that at the moment.Another frustrating afternoon at "fortress" new lawn.To make matters worse the 1 linesman was an utter pleb, giving the softest penalty decision ever.Thankfully justice prevailed and big Kev saved it.Jamie Price was man of the match, quite how though im not sure.A bad afternoon!A change needed!!!

Yer thats because they are two leagues higher we played better because the teams in our league are more physical and don't stand off

Or maybe its because the players deemed that to be a difficult game and raised their game, but thought that today, rugby and at swindon they only had to turn up to get three points?...

Just another depressing 'home' performance.

We need to play better, we really do, and get used to the Lawn pitch. It seems like so far Halesowen, Rugby and Brackley have utilised it more than we have.

Another thing, where was the Midfield today?

Thanks at least you made the 300, FGR away was a dismal 746 we took about 60.

We need a big, horrible git at the back .Regardless of injuries we dont have that at the moment.Another frustrating afternoon at "fortress" new lawn. For frustrating read clueless. We simply have too many players who are good athletes but are not natural players of the ball.Big engines do not necessarily make good football players and our players are being found out.Tim is going to have to make some possibly controversial decisions in double quick time or we ain't going anywhere. We don't link from defence to midfield or from midfield to strikers.... Ho Hum early days yet ,,err did'nt I say that last week...

Oh yes,, I'd employ Wilko for now as the big tall 'orrible git at the back.He might give a few pen's away but between him and Kev Sawyer they would frighten the s**t out of the opposition.

Don't take offence if I seem over-critical, but I was there as a neutral, and I've never been known to keep my mouth shut.

I'm glad to see you think you can play better (you certainly played so much better against us, as said above). First half Brackley had far less possession but did so much more with it. Long hoofs are bad enough but too many were straight up in the air, off head and boot. That's just basics. Yes, midfield was overcrowded, little width. Didn't notice Syko at all first half.

I know Price is a 'fans' favourite' and looks pretty, but MOTM? Smith for me, even though he came on late. Seems the tactic first half was 'whatever you do, get the ball to Price so he can whip in his penetrating crosses'. Except they didn't (penetrate). Glad to see there was much less of that second half.

Still, entertaining game in parts. Scoreline flattered Brackley but the result didn't, and it was great to see Justin Jackson again

MOTM is often a mystery!

We struggled at home last year and for some reason it seems to be happening again this time around, I'm not sure why but we don't seem to be able to dominate the opposition and dictate the play. I can't say how it's done either because it seems as though it's years since we've been able to play that way.

I was disappointed too because I had a friend there with his wife and daughter and it always seems to be that case that when you get someone along City put on a terrible show.

We're better than that and the players know it. Lets just hope we can put on a Bromsgrove performance at Yate next week!

Hear what Tim thought here (http://www.cityladies.co.uk/spf/th080907.wav).

Not really, seeing as its voted by the corporate sponsors who were probably lapping it up in the luxury that is New Lawn rather than watching the match.

Thats my theory anyway.

MOTM for us is decided by corporate guests/sponsors but we reckon they often let their wives/girlfriends choose. Hence it comes down to whoever has the nicest legs or bum. The number of times Ben Cleverley got MOTM......

I was as disappointed as anyone with our performance today, but I thought Brackley looked a well organised side with a lot of talent, they were quicker to the ball and won virtually everything in the air, which poses the question, why did we keep putting there ? I agree we need a tall commanding figure to marshall the defence but to find one may prove difficult.

Tell me about it. We had Kevs kids with us today ! And his mum missed the penalty save as she was taking one of them to the toilet :D

Have to agree with most, too much long ball, route one stuff for my liking and against another team that IMO didn't look anything special.

Hopefully Smudge will play an important part in future games by giving us some MUCH needed width BUT, we have to get the ball out to him in the first place.

Very disappointing yesterday with the only real highlight being the introduction of Smithy and Kev's penalty save. The confident football played on tuesday went straight out of the window to be replaced by constant long balls which were easily won in the air every time by the Brackley players. Not the best of preperations for the Yate game next week but hopefully we can reproduce some of the football seen in spells last tuesday

Man of the Match is of course a subjective choice.

This week it was voted for by members of the new Business ConneXtions Club.

Often, MOTM will be selected by sponsors and their guests - sometimes in other ways.

Selecting MOTM is part of the package when sponsoring the match, but I've know a sponsor to ask the visiting manager to select the home team MOTM. Very occasionally a visiting player is so outstanding he will get selected (an example from my time at Wolves was a very young David James in one of his first ever Watford appearances). I've once known the referee to win it too.

But one week I see no reason why we can't arrange for Forum members to vote for the MOTM. I'm not quite sure how we can do it logistically so it can be announced in the dying seconds of the match, but we'll find a way. And I bet there will be a split vote between maybe five players. That's the joy of football - opinions.
