Very good news indeed, slightly more impressed about Price signing a contract than Smith, but that takes nothing away from the fact that these are 2 very good signings for the club

This is marvellous news, we must have one of the biggest squads in the league I would have thought, shame half of them are injured.

I have been in contact with Smithy, he would love it if the fans gave a T-Ender roar when he comes onto the field.
Make no mistake, he is really up for this season and is glad to be back. His ambition for this Club is promotion..... and in view of the past few months, that's what we would all like.

This gives City a squad of around 23 players this is possibly the largest and best squad we have had since Keith Gardener's days.

Counting up the players on my sponsorship thread it's 24 if you include Adie Harris - and you have to include him:notworthy:

How can you pay 24 players on a crowd of under 300, when the club budgeted on 400 per game. Where is the money coming from for this.
I'm all in favour of a big squad and good signings but not if we are slowly digging our own grave (again....).

So who do you release when its time to trim the budget, this can't carry on with crowds of only 300

You put people out on loan and therefore you're not paying wages.

So 4-6 players need to go out on loan or don't play for us and here is my list :

Scott Griffin, Michael Noakes, Alex Allard, Adie Harris (training duties only), Luke

I would like to see or give an opportunity to Jody Taylor to see what he can do, if Jack Pitcher is injured, why not try Taylor & Welsh up front.

If Pitch is injured its a chance for Whitts to show that he can play off Welshy. Being dropped may give him that extra incentive.

As for the squad situation, I would expect to see that trimmed down to a maximum of 20 through releases once more players are fit, with a few of those remaining out on loan.

All the rest get zip, they are here because they want to play for City and believe they are going places. That said I expect we will see a few players go elsewhere..
