Not sure who is aware of this but the drum was banned from Tuesday nites game and all evening games by FGR officials...
It was said that the other small drum could b used tho (and was)
What I want to know is if the drum can be used at normal Saturday games at FGR as their officials were like well we will c...prob so I didnt start something...
Can someone shed some light on this because I cant be bothered to carry it all the way in if FGR officials are going to moan about it!
Any comments apreciated

It'll never be the T-end until the drum is beat. It'll never be home without it.
Surely it they can't say no to Saturdays, I can maybe understand in the evenings due to the homes around and kids trying to sleep but who sleeps at 3pm on a Saturday (apart from night shifts before anyone tries to be smart).
As Neil say 'BANG YOUR DRUM!', but don't break the stick again.

What about a whip-round so we can call him Drakey-Two-Drums? A svelte evening off the shoulder number to please the stewards, and our familiar massive saturday afternoon drum?

Sadly whilst we do not wish to be kill joys, I have to inform you Drakey that the use of the BIG Drum is banned.
We have a licence for the ground and whilst it may be a football stadium, we have to operate within the limitations set down. Conditions were attached to the building regualtions when the stadium was built. We are now in the 21st century when it comes to regulating particular noise. The small one is quite acceptable but we have to be careful to ensure we operate within those regulations. You are treated no differently to anyone at our own matches.

What a crying shame. The T-End will never be the same.
Keep the Drum though Drakey, perhaps our new ground will be in the middle of nowhere and you can BANG to your hearts content.
Talking about Bangs, just wish the powers that be would BAN the noise that accompany's Firework night a week before and A WEEK AFTER THE EVENT. Drives my dog insane .....and for that matter his owner !

Shock horror, who'd have thought that spectators inside a football ground produce noise . I suppose only a certain number will be allowed to sing as to not go over the decibel limit and as for City goals scored its probably best to clap politely.
Still I suppose the only ones happy tomorrow will be the Rugby Town supporters ;)

No wonder FGR haven't got an atmosphere to rival ours

No amount of complaining is going to change FGR's decision on this one I'm afraid.
I don't agree with it but I think we need to respect the rules at our new landlords ground and make sure we make plenty of noise singing the lads to victory :D:thumbsup:

I agree seems a strange decision and I can understand your feelings about the big drum.
However the atmosphere isnt bad at the New Lawn with Oxford and Torquay fans complimenting the atmosphere created by our lot.
You should go to some other BSP clubs the atmospheres are similar to morgues they really are!!

there are all sorts of odd rules and regulations that seem stupid but have to be maintained - take for example at FGR there are no bins? this is because one of the risk assesments with the new stadium was the problem if there were bees hovering around the bins! and how often does the weather at FGR see bees flying around???

How does the decibel rating come off when the Eggchasers score....with their size of crowds and the fact that they are slap-bang in the middle of a residential area !
These Planning regs. mistify me, plus they have just erected an even bigger stand to hold more noisy fans
It's just ridiculous when you think about it.

It is a bit ridiculous that a ground can be allowed to have a tannoy system installed and play loud music through speakers before a match, but a drum is too noisy?!
I personally believe that certain people are concerned about the FGR support being outdone by a club two divisions below it...
joycie
1st September 2007, 01:58 PM
i'm sure the reason behind regulations saying you can't have a drum is not because were worried you'll be noisier than us! as much as a stupid rule it may be it has to be respected - although i agree 3,000 fans like the oxford game like last year are clearly going to make much more noise than a drum!

You obviously were not at many matches last season where we outsung most opposistion, especially against Aldershot and the atmosphere against Halifax last season was magical.
You make a lot of noise but remember that it always sounds louder to you when you are the main singers. Thought Gloucester were pretty quiet when we played you earlier this season. However so were we that day!
Most clubs in the BSP complimented our atmosphere last season and Torquay thought there was a cracking atmosphere last week.

Have you heard of a Pre Season Friendly? And the fact that no one cares about singing in them?
Also, I was at that Torquay game and the atmosphere was made by the 1000+ Torquay fans, not your dozen singers and a biscuit tin. Thats my opinion on the matter.

Funny how Torquay fans recon we made alot of noise! There was alot more than twelve people singing more like 50 odd.
Remember you making this point before its utter bull-****. no offence but id rather take oppinions from clubs like Oxford and Torquay fans rather than Gloucester who are dislike by manyy aclub and with your attitude I can see why.:brickwall:

Everyone is welcome to their say on The Tigers forum, critical or not!
All dedicated fans spend a lot of paper pounds and time supporting and following their teams, most times in our case, with little reward.
It's a pity but most teams do not match the standard of their supporters. Players come and players go but the "loyal fans" go on for ever.

Environmental Health might have included it as a condition on the approval - should be able to go on-line and see exactly what it says in the approval for the football ground. I'm too busy doing stupid postings at the moment but if I remember I'll have a scan.
