Not the game but the ground, I now the main pub was not open, but what was your impressions, is it something you would like built for yourself ?

Good crowd as well

yea i enjoyed it! i already knew it was a nice ground from coming to watch you guys last season! The Rockwool stand is like a direct replacement of the T-End! it is a prime example of what a new ground should be like. Although the Halesowen fans seem to think that it is not up to standard because of the barriers around the pitch (see their forum). Interesting that we were asked not to use the one drum, and the first half i thought the atmosphere was awesome!

Fantastic little ground Lawn Fan.

And Clifty you were right, we were sat (well I was actually stood) in the main stand and the noise from the new T-End was awsome in the first half. The highlight of which came when a few Halesowen fans in the main stand started to cheer only to be met with "Its nice to know your here, your just a bunch of W*****S" :D

Cant make Saturdays game as my lad has a football tournament himself but I may find myself joining you guys behind the goal for a sing song in the not so distant future

You are always more than welcome mate! so was it as loud as it sounded? It always sounds loud when you are stood on the terrace because of the roof reflecting the sound!

Idiots they have no idea on how tough the rules are in this league with ground standards.

...first time I've been to the ground - I think it's great! ... good view of the whole pitch - well lit - loads of seating - big bar upstairs (which I guess we can't always use as it's barriered-off from the normal seating) - looks like a really good playing surface - probably wont't flood (we'll have to adjust to playing at altitude)

The official attendance was 388, which doesn't rattle around too muck (unlike Bath City) - I'm sure a cold November with 120 fans watching a League Cup match against someone like Andover will be a little different - but our midweek league games look like they'll be reasonably well attended - big clubs like Merthyr & Bromsgrove - local clubs like Yate & Ciren (who live closer that we do!)

The New T-End seems to echo pretty well to our noise (albeit with the bass turned down).

it is odd that there are no barriers - not sure how some of the bigger ex-league club fans will contain themselves ... meeting someone like Doncaster or Swansea in the FA Cup might cause problems(?)

another oddity was the the lights in the T-End were put on 10 minutes before the end of the match - dampened any atmosphere, but presumably required for Health & Safety reasons.

Overall, definitely the best ground in this league - I'd be happy with something like this for our new ground, although I expect that our seated area will be a lot smaller (you never know - some investers looking for conference facilities could help us to build something good).

...and many thanks again to FGR for letting us use it.

Just one grumble. My mates brought a pint at half time only for the bar lady to tell them to drink up 2 minutes later.

My last appearance at the New Lawn was against Northwich and I thought the ground was good, but 'leaked' a bit due to the one open end and open side. The new stand behind the goal and the fencing along the non stadium side made a very big difference, more compact, better atmosphere. Good ground you've got there.

Nice to meet you Bully, although you seemed a little reluctant to own up to who you are. Shame you couldn't persuade Jim Bowen or Tony Green to join you.

It's fantastic. A home away from home and another major plus, although many might not notice is that the floodlights are superb for night photography!!

More shocked that someone had recognised me from the COF than reluctant to own up

Only when you have upset as many people as Neil do you need to be on your guard ;) (only joking Neil)

Sounded loud enough from where we were and made for a wicked atmosphere.

Just need to keep it up to the same level if we go a goal down as it did go a little quiet for a while.

i enjoyed the game and can see the arrangement working well. i'm guessing in future the green man will be open from the start? because the carol embrey suite was being used for the bar before and during half time. was a good idea having the price for the main stand and terrace being the same - the T end were very loud unlike halesowen who's knowledge stretched as long as 2 songs  lots of long ball though but the ground should make things easier for city being intimidating to away teams and all because its very open and the pitch is quite big so you'll find players tiring quite a lot!

Looks like the game was filmed by Halesowen too.

Of course, it won't be as good as Pablo's efforts

Gay music as well for both goals.

I didn't see another camera in the stand - has Pablo been making deals with his footage? Actually, SoccerX (it's FOOTBALL) did the Yeltz's FA Cup game at Telford last year and the quality was superb but several of their other clips I've seen have been well below that standard that they set.

BTW, in true 24 style, Pablo's highlights will be online within the hour

Nah, I just meant it was random music. I think it was a Run DMC/Aerosmith - Walk This Way remix, which is quite random!

Very impressed. Great atmosphere. Nice to see Bully again .... Slightly bigger and posher version of The Corinium, but not surprising considering we are 2 levels below, I'm no longer accepting any Concrete Corinium teases for a couple of seasons.

Superb pitch. Seating, however, a bit tight. When FGR draw Everton in the 3rd round of the Cup some well fed Toffeemen may grumble.

I know the 'T-End Forest Green' love their tradition of occupying one end but, imho, you'd have a lot more effect if you 'occupied' the stand seats around about where the Yeltz fans all congregated.

If Muzzy was cute and, depending on the conditions, chose to kick towards the Empty End first half then that would work. Second half, then occupy the Rockwool End. Winner both ways there.

Of course, any Tiger fans with german connections could in any case leave a towel on the seats so as if necessary to occupy them second half if Muzzie lost the toss or made the wrong choice.

Disclaimer: now that it is even closer to Bristol to watch the Tigers I must emphasise it is still only as a kissin' cousin that I'd come down ....

anybody tries to plant a yellow and black scarf on me would only succeed if it were accompanied by a pint of (very expensive) Marstons. Joe, where we you when I needed you?

Has to be behind one end i'm afraid. With the other side not available this is great because people won't go over to the other end and will stay in the t-end all game. Hopefully some away fans will do the same for 90 min banter!

I don't know what side the Home changing room is, but at MP they were on the T-end side so we always came out on the side shooting away from the T-end first half. If it is around the other way, maybe the players will have to make a dash for the other end :)

The home changing room is the one nearest the goal at the Trevor Horsley Stand end...

So we will always come out up that end then. Oh well down to the coin then.

Its the second time i've been to FGR and normally i'm not keen on new grounds but I think the set up there is superb. Certainly is a smart ground and hopefully City can see a bit of success whilst using the New Lawn.
