Lovely stuff.

Having been there I have to find a few positives from the evening. So here they are : I thought the Germans sang their national anthem with gusto, despite the boorish booing.

Thereafter their mickey taking, singling English football songs and chants was sharp and incisive.

End of positives.

Well, maybe Gareth Barry looked pleased to have a chance and made some decent contributions. Oh yes, and there was Joe Cole and Micah Richards too. And Rio did O.K. And the Reading fella at full back. Lampard was in the O.K. category too. So were JT and SWP (but man of the match ?)

Not perhaps as bad a game upon reflection. Smithy isn't an England striker though. And why don't they get more out of a talented player like Carrick ?

It's strange, we can't produce good goalkeepers, other country's have them in abundance.

Spain - Casillas, Reina, Victor Valdes, Canizares.
Italy - Buffon, Curci, De Sanctis, Roma.

etc.

Maybe give Scott Carson a chance, I reckon he will be a good 'keeper.
