Reminds me of the lowestoft commentators from last season,

Dr Wart Hoover

They keep saying Gloucester! It's like Sky Sports! Surely they can say Gloucester City!

Dr Wart Hoover

Sounds as though City conceded that goal in looking for the off-side whistle that didn't come.

Dr Wart Hoover

Parinello has had a lot of mentions for interceptions...

Lets hope we can just keep the score down it really seems like Telford are a very different side to last year.

Yatesey
24th August 2010, 20:22
this blokes getting annoying, i can see more goals they will score more goals, lets have more goals, does he expect Telford to win 5-0 every week ? thought the bbc were not ment to be bias

Dr Wart Hoover
24th August 2010, 20:22
all protests that City have a frre kick... biased ref!!!

and apparently Telford deserve a couple more goals

Darran
24th August 2010, 20:39
What do you expect from the commentary? Its a one for Telford fans so its going to be biased towards them and lets be fair they have outplayed us tonight we havnt had a sniff in the 2nd half really and doesnt even sound like we have had a shot on target.

Dr Wart Hoover
24th August 2010, 20:42
not sounding like a good City performance... last season we couldn't compete with some of the top clubs, maybe it's the same this year.

We have played 3 of the top teams - the Ilson performance shows that we can cope with the "others"

bold ref for sending a home player off in front of 1900 fans... for wasting time 2 mins into injury time... he's OK in my book

Darran
24th August 2010, 20:44
I think your spot on Dr. This league really does seem to have a massive gap between the top sides and the bottom sides and as long as we beat the sides in and around us thats all that counts.

Yatesey
24th August 2010, 20:48
oh well like the doc said always gonna be hard agianst teams like this, but the next 2 games are very winable with Redditch and Solihull so bring them on !!

Andy Sinton just said we are a good side but they made us look ordinary

Fair enough comment there. Lots of effort by us, but we didn't manage a shot on target.

Good running by Bryant. Parinello was our MOTM. We defended well.

If I were a betting man, I'd say Telford are a cert for the top 3, and have a solid chance of winning the league. I can see why they haven't conceded yet. Awesome defence.

Why dont you become a betting man? All the best people are lol. I am certainly going to have an interest once the prices go back up.

Lots of effort & endeavour from the lads tonight but Telford were different class!! Not a performance like Droylsden or Eastwood at the start of last season. We will play worse than that & winn games & defense was pretty solid against a team who will beat a lot more teams, more experienced than us by more than 2 goals this season.

Neil

Andy Sinton just said we are a good side but they made us look ordinaryThats a fair an honest comment. They were better than us, end of story but credit must go to City for going to the home of a team thats just dicked a promotion favourite (Gainsborough) 5-0 on the own ground and only concede two goals.

I don't think that we had a shot on goal tonight but we looked pretty solid at the back although the first had more than a hint of offside about it while the second was just a superb move and goal.

I had to laugh at their fans chanting "you're not fit to referee" after they'd had Mills sent off. He'd been booked and was time wasting. What else could the referee do?

Darran
24th August 2010, 22:46
Sinton said he went to speak to the Ref about the sending off and the ref said he booked him because he thought he was taking the mick out of him. Sounds all a bit silly to me.

Neil
24th August 2010, 23:03
Sounds fair, the guy is a Derby player isn't he? I can imagine that he thought he was a bit too big time for the ref, especially after he'd booked him.

Darran
24th August 2010, 23:08
Yeah he is on loan from Derby

When I first went to Anfield for my daughter in the 70s, I found I couldn't take any interest in a game until I'd fired off a roll of film, so I've often wondered how manage to do it Neil.

As a Telford fan who was at the match, I have to say Andy Sinton (a.k.a. God)'s comments about you being a good side are quite fair. I thought the Tigers were well-organised and hard to break down, and to be fair you had the better of the final fifteen minutes when you put a number of dangerous moves together. Gloucester City are clearly miles better than Hyde, who we took to the cleaners last week, and I reckon you should have a decent season.
As for us, we finished last season in a state of demoralisation and disarray, with fans calling for the entire squad to be shown the door for their lack of commitment and effort. Instead we dismissed Rob Smith and appointed Andy Sinton, and straight away he's brought in some great players, and turned the ones we had like Trainer, who got our two last night, back into the real article. It's been a fantastic start to the season - the only thing that worries me is how we can stop higher League teams coming in and poaching our players.
Good luck to the Tigers for the rest of the season (except for one match of course!).

Thanks. I thought we were pretty solid and even though we've only picked up three points from four games I think we look a better side so far this season.

Your loanee Mills was picked out as a threat yet even though Mike Green was struggling (and was taken off midway through the second half) I think we won the battle down that wing. Our only real fault was the inability to do anything meaningful when we got the ball. Being strong defensively against the better teams comes at a cost. Some may say that we came for a point, if thats the case then there's no shame in that, Telford are better than us on every level on and off the field.

Leaving there last night left me with alot to be jealous about.
