AFC Wimbledon have had their points deduction reduced from 18 to three by an FA appeal board.
In February the Ryman League appeals committee had handed out the more severe sanction for fielding a player without international clearance.
The Dons had already been expelled from the FA Trophy for utilising midfielder Jermaine Darlington.
Originally they had points taken off for the 11 games in which the former Cardiff player featured for them.
The £400 fine imposed upon the club for breaching three league rules has not been reduced.
The appeal board ruled that, although the Ryman League had not misinterpreted its rules on eligibility and the decision to deduct 18 points was wholly in accordance with those rules, given the specific and unusual circumstances the deduction of 18 points was excessive.

That sounds fair enough.
I must say that i've not been too keen reading all their "get behind us" appeals all around the net because they broke the rules and they had to pay the price, although I do agree that the ridiculous 18pt thing was taking the biscuit.

On almost every Football forum I go onto their is a AFC Wimbledon supporter pleading their case to the masses. Yeah, your club was hard done by and treated hap-handedly by the FA and the Ryman League but your going to lose some compassion if you spam other clubs forums for support aren't you.
Is it just me or do any of you disapprove of clubs like AFC Wimbledon, AFC Telford United and FC United of Manchester breezing through the leagues because of the media hysteria they created. It annoys me that the clubs mentioned can breeze through the pyramid system when clubs like us with a loyal support can't ever catch a break only because they are 'carrying on' a seperate clubs name. Its refreshing that supporters of the old Wimbledon and Telford United can create a brand spanking new club out of protest but is it fair to the other clubs with loyal fanbases and a good volunteering network throughout the club that are over 100 years old.
Some of you may disagree but it personally annoys me that this happens.
Anyway, I'm glad the FA came to their senses.

AFC Telford annoy me, I don't think it is fair that a club can go bankrupt and then start up under a slightly different name with very few/little debt. There in a better position financially now then they ever were with bigger crowds than ever, all for going bankrupt. I'm sure loads of companies will have hit financial crisis' due to not being paid due to Telford United's financial incompetences.

AFC Telford were also allowed to keep the Bucks Head ground, even though it was the building work done on it that originally started their financial problems. To be honest I don't mind these supporters run clubs, why should they suffer and lose their team because of the incompetance of others. I'll bet the gate money the likes of AFC Wimbledon must be bringing to some Ryman league clubs isn't something most will complain about either
