View Full Version : Supporters Meeting?

I was wondering whether the Trust are planning to host an open meeting.

It seems that there is quite a lot to organise but also I feel a lot of potential help that we can co-ordinate. I think it would be helpful to co-ordinate what we need to do. It seems that perhaps there are three parts to this:

1. The clear up
2. Fundraising (local donations, FA help, donations from premier league clubs, collections from fans at premier league and other clubs etc)
3. The future (meeting with Council, other teams etc)

I would very much like to help with this and hoping to make it to Bath tonight. Sorry for not being such a regular face at games the last few years (lived in London, went travelling, but now in Swindon and hoping to make more games).

All the best,

Mark

I believe that the next ST meeting is the AGM, could this be a good opportunity to hold a meeting?

Welcome back Mark, no need for being guilty about being away for a while. A number of us drifted away but have returned over the past 5 or so years. Once you're back watching you'll realise what you've missed, and you'll not look back!

I was chatting to Voice From The Stand at the game last night and he offered to write to all league clubs asking for a donation. He suggested setting a target - £250,000 - that would give us something to aim at.

I reckon it's a cracking idea. Does it need to be authorised by the committee, or can he just go ahead and do it?

As he pointed out, all it needs is one benefactor who fancies getting into the press as the 'person who saved Gloucester City' and we're there. If not that, then a collection of smaller contributions will add up.

I believe Keith Baker has already written to them all - best contact him first

Thanks all

I will contact Keith. I think it will be useful to set ourselves a target. As well as targetting donatins from clubs we could also see if we can get Supporters Clubs to hold bucket collections for us. The football comunity should help the fotball community. It reminds me of the way that fotball clubs across the country helped Brightom a few years back when they needed help.

It is Mark D.

Thought Pitcher looked good last night.

We are in touch with the 139 clubs who, like ourselves, have formed a supporters trust.

I was wondering whether the Trust are planning to host an open meeting.

All the best,

Your help will be much appreciated Mark.

Rest assured that all of your points above have been taken up, and are being acted upon. The Board of the Supporters Trust met on Thursday. Neil and Clifty were invited and it was great that they came along and contributed.

A priority at the ground will be the state of all things electrical and a plan is already in place for an inspection. Obviously, overriding that is the allowability of anyone going onto the premises if there is any health and safety risk from e-coli or whatever. But I don't think any time is being lost. There's still too much water there for anyone to open up the floodlight boxes as yet.

There have been contacts with no end of people. I was very pleased, for example, that Ken Turner rang me to express his commiserations with Gloucester City supporters. I am certain that the Southern League will be helpful and supportive of any decisions that we shall have to come to.

The comments in today's paper from your good friend Parmjit are indicative of the support that we are going to need at that sort of level and let us hope that, eventually, everyone else sees it as Parmjit does.

As Neil suggests, the AGM will be a good opportunity for us all to consider whatever progress will have been made by that time. I am sure we will have a very good attendance. Thanks to all who have agreed to stand for election to the Trust - it should be an interesting season for the newcomers to cut their teeth on.

Thanks Noah.

When is the AGM? Would it be appropriate for me to attend?

It's on Sunday 2nd September, by which time a number of issues will be clearer and, as ever, it will be most important for members to voice their opinions on matters of the day.

All that you will need to do is to be in membership. A brief communique with City Supporter (send a PM) is what's required.

Be good to have you along.
