Well Ive just listened to the interview with Tim on Talk Sport.

Unfortunately it was confirmed on air by Tim that the club has no insurance for the flooding which is extremely bad news.

Also some hint that it maybe be a while, if at all, that the ground will be played on again !

Trying to remain optimistic and Tim mentioned a few times that it really is too early to tell but its hard not to fear the worst.

A good interview which will hopefully help the cause but at the same time brought home the reality of the situation and the possible outcomes !

Recorded from Freeview channel, so I could put this onto the computer and then it could go on the forum. Unless someone has recorded it an easier way.

I think that the interview put across the point that the long term future of the club lies away from Meadow Park. As Tim said it is too early to assess just how bad the situation is, but the floodlights alone I would expect to cost a small fortune to repair, if a repair is possible.

Another point that Tim put across was how positive everyone within the club are remaining and that is what will get the club through it all.

We only heard short snippets of the Interview in the Car because it was a poor signal.

Can't wait to hear what TH said in full!

i haven't heard the interview but have had a couple of conversations with Tim over the last couple of days, by telephone and in person, and i would disagree that it is all doom and gloom. Tim is positive that together we will overcome this and come through it a stronger force!

I understand why you might feel a bit down about this, but it was a measured response from Tim. He did include some upbeat illustration about the support from others, and it is very heartening.

The Talk Sport people did take it on forebodingly when Tim was off the line, but I think that they, among the rest of the media, need to be peppered with further information. We need to get them all to see how they may be able to help us.

There's a Trust Board meeting this evening. We will be as positive as we can be. Agree with Clifty that Tim will want us to look forward and to deal with our difficulties. Just imagine if you were playing how he would be urging you on from the dug-out. It is the same with all he does.

I have sent a PM to Neil regarding this and hopefully we will have something on here shortly for those who want to hear the interview again or missed it the first time round.

If someone wants to help me out here, I have the recording on a WAV file.

I won't get into the eventual way I had to record it, but at least you can hear the interview clearly. But because of my pop-up blocker I cannot attach the WAV file onto a thread. If one of the moderators would send me a PM with their email address I could send the file that way and they could put it on for me.

Maybe some people missed it and would like to hear it.

I think its Gwen Stefani night on E4, so you'll get no sense out of him. He'll be like a punch drunk boxer after a night on the meths.

Sent the WAV file to Neil by email last night, so hopefully it should be on soon.

No Neil, Pablo gave me your hotmail account. But I have resent it to the one you supplied in your PM.

The interview / piece on sporttalk was over 7 minutes long, it centred very much on us, but Tim mentioned other clubs who had been affected and who are helping us with support.

Thanks Neil

Worked for me too. Although Tim's views are very strong that we may never play at Meadow Park again, a new stadium is probably the only long term option.

I just been looking round at some other new grounds built at our level and the one that stands out is Dartford's Princes Park. Was built in less than a year too and is a cracking little stadium! Council gave them the land and funding too

"Right click, save as" then listen to it in windows media player - it worked like that for me.

As for grounds? For me, the Railway Triangle and a replica of the New Lawn on maybe a smaller scale. One long seated stand along the side with 1000 - 2000 seats and a new T-End behind the goal with two open sides for future developement if required. As a stadium itself I don't see why it should be *that* expensive!

I would hate to have a Stadium which two open sides like Salisbury!

My Stadium would be something like the Main Stand at FGR, the current T-End but extended by 3 or 4 steps, then have the Chicken Run as a T-End type stand with 3/4 steps less and then the Car Park end being a 5/6 step uncovered stand.....with alot of room for expansion  Basically a souped up version for Meadow Park

That would cost alot of money though :brickwall:
