It is now!!!
Finished 2-2, we were 1-0 up at HT and to be honest you guys didnt really get going.
Dont know what your manager said at HT but you come out flying in the second half and the equaliser was an absolute beauty with a rocket of a shot and good second goal aswell, we equalised with about 5 minutes left and think overall it was a fair result.
Sure you will get a more detailed report with your goalscorers when your guys get back.
Hopefully we raised a nice amount for you to help you along aswell.
Neil and Clifty nice to meet you both and good luck with everything.

Yes Talksport repotred that your Chairman handed over £300 as a result of bucket collections and other donations at the game. A great effort, and money that is desperately needed and will be well used.
Thank you, friend of Gloucester City.

That aint bad, thats a hell of alot more than we normally make so just shows people are all thinking about you and willing to donate.
I would imagine you will get a nice amount from the Bath game on friday aswell as i know a few locals are going along.
You are not in this alone!!!!
Good luck

It was our pleasure! As soon as I spoke with Tim on Monday evening myself and our Chairman both agreed we needed to do something - it's what non-league football is all about! In the grand scheme of things with the costs £300 isn't a great deal but we all hope that it helps in someway.
Good luck for the season, you've got a top bloke as your Manager, and if there is anything we can do to help in the future just ask.
Oh and we gave your lads a good game this evening - cracking game of football and certainly wasn't the usual type of game you see in a friendly - end to end and both teams going for it! Great advert of football for both Clubs.
Cheers

It would be great if the egg-chasers and CTAFC reacted in the same vein !

Seems unlikely though at the minute. Would be good use Kingsholm as a ground for the season mind, though I am not surprised at Chelten-scums lack of compassions. Selfish savages

To be fair to Cheltenham, I think they would help in terms of the ground if possible but remember Bristol Rovers will now be sharing whaddon. Its not feasible. And the majority of their fans on the robins nest at least have realised the extent of what has happened (end of the day they have no water too, their friendly against wolves is now being played at kidderminster etc) and are discussing ways of raising money or helping. You will always get the odd prat on there saying glad its happened etc but these are probably the ones that havent even seen a city town derby and probably the same tossers that are roaming the streets damaging bowsers.
Ignore the idiots on the rugby forum, if it was the the way round the "vitriol" as they called it from Neil if he had gone on there and said what they are would be 10 times worse from them. I would seriously hope grfc at least have a whip around at the next home game for us. I would take no delight in it being the other way around and I'm sure we would help. End of the day we are all from Gloucester.
Like I said I have emailed the rugby club, thats the stadiums manager, commercial manager, community manager etc last night for help. Had no reply yet though....

I think Tim was spot on by adding that bit of perspective to the situation by highlighting the difficulties that people are suffering during this catastrophe. No matter how much we love our Club, I am sure we all echo those sentiments.
However, I and my boys were at the Frome game last night and were touched by the kindness of Frome Town and am sure the football community mirror Frome's response to our situation.

Perhaps if we called them Cheltenham, instead of this constant use of the above phrase, just maybe, we might get a little thought from them. How do you xpect anyone to help, when there is this constant abuse.
If the shoe was on the onther foot, would you help a club where the fans call you scum?

Well said RegCubit. I am uneasy with abusive names used against other clubs. It does not reflect well on those people who are the abusers nor does it give the Club a good name who have supporters who indulge in such practices. It sits uneasily with my vision of 'the beautiful game'. Unfortunately, with some people, these utterances come home to roost in circumstances like we find ourselves today.
I hope these sentiments are noted.

C'mon folks, it's a phrase used by fans all over the country towards a rival club and we all know it's just a bit of banter, I doubt there are many C********m fans who are genuinley offended.

I to am on this band wagon, yes there are some on their site that have poked fun at our expense, but there are others who have put them in their place. We cannot on the one hand call them names and then on the other vilify them for not helping us. Lets draw a line under this and be grateful for any help Cheltenham may give us over the coming days. Remember, no club has to help us out and any help from Cheltenham should be received with thanks.

My friend is a Cheltenham Town fan and she said that at possibly the last game someone put an address over the tannoy that there should not be any more rivalry or similar message between both clubs! Fair play if this was true and I have no reason to doubt her! Possibly someone from Cheltenham could confirm this so we all know might just help

I disagree to some extent. I think the rivalry is great. I don't like Chelt Town, never have and can't ever imagine looking for their results and hoping they have won.
In terms of football results tho that is one thing. But I think some things go further than what happens on the pitch. I believe if Chelt were in a similar situation and we had a chance to help then we would and should help. Helping other clubs out in times of dire need is important for all of us and any help from others (whoever they are) of course would be gratefully received.
But part of what makes football so great is the rivalries and I hope that never changes.

Rivalry is fine but abuse is abuse and cannot be sanitised.
