Sounds like Jack Harris had a busy afternoon, BUT he causes concern about the frequency of injuries he seems to pick up but what a welcomed valuable three points!

Brilliant result! We deserved it! Better team in first half, used the conditions better, and battled well in the second half! No doubt they will say we were shit like most of these top half teams but all I gotta say is 1.0 to the city boys!!

Quote from Telford forum

Firstly well done Gloucester fans you were a credit to your club today and made a great deal of noise. Best fans we have had at the Buckshead in a long while and hope to see you next season

Superb result! Also nice to have opposing fans saying that our fans are great rather than whingeing about City being 'rubbish' and winning 3-0(!) Gutted I couldn't make it today

Rather enjoyed that trip!

Telford were really poor. I can only remember one save Green had to make (Someone may correct me)

Great bunch of travelling support.

Hopefully build on this between now and the end of the season and, more importantly, into next season.

City certainly had the best of the first half - with Telford getting some dirty tackles in. Second half more even, with a few scares near the end. Nice bunch of fans, who shook hands at the start and the end. Overall, we outplayed them and outsang them ... the underpants over the trousers probably helped.

harrogate 1-0 down at the moment too !!

Tremendous win, that'll see us playing BSN football next season.

Lovely ground too, I wish they were all like that, even if the edges of the pitch were a bit damp in places!

Good match, and that Greener save was amazing.

Neil
5th April 2010, 20:29
What save? Did they have a shot on goal?

BTW, was that Marchants coach a Scuzzers, erm, I mean, Chelten-our-new-best-friends coach that we passed on the M5?

Well done City! Fantastic result. Vauxhall, despite winning today cannot catch us now. Just gotta see off Harrogate now, hopefully Hyde can help us with that tonight!

Leon looks very plussed! Great performance today - deserved the three points. It was interesting to watch the game from behind our goal, makes you realise just how hard our back four works, and just how good they are at reading the game. We weathered the storm at the start of the second half and the oh-sh*t-we-might-lose panic at the end, but looked pretty comfortable for the rest of the time.

Thought the Telford fans were good value. They were especially sporting considering the loss meant the end of their season. Was listening to BBC Radio Shropshire on the way home and one of their fans was praising City, saying how we wanted it more than Telford, we were first to every ball. This was pretty much echoed by their manager, who was livid with his players. He said only one of their players (I can't remember who) was worth his place in the side next season! He also said our goal summed up their performance - the keeper pulled off a good save, but nobody was there to help him and we were first to the rebound.

Well done, City. Sometimes I think our players don't believe they belong in the Conference North, but performances like today proves they do. What a great team - they should be very proud tonight. I know I am.

.

Marvellous performance by all , from start to finish and it could have been by more than one goal with any luck!

Truely marvellous stadium, good crowd of Telford supporters in numbers and friendlyness and great atmosphere from our crew throughout!

Two small gripes though, felt let down by supporters who don't seem to know that you are supposed to wear your underpants UNDER your trousers and other who cannot hold their beer!

Next time Miss Whiplash will be in attendance to whip them into order!

I gather only three of their players are under constract anyway.

just another win for us and loss for them and thats that !

Dr Wart Hoover

yep - we need 4 points to be matematically safe - unless Harrogate drop any - so it could be sorted on Saturday

and Vauxhall or Redditch will now be relegated....

Great performance, first half we played some good football and thoroughly deserved the lead. Second half we played against the wind but battled well. Ref didn't have a great game, gave everything to us first half then them second. Very surprised with the Telford support, thought they would be louder than they were but I guess they didn't give them much to sing about. That said, the amount leaving 7 or 8 mins before the end of the game was criminal. I think they've been rather spoilt with their nice, spanking shiny stadium and concourses. Try going through what we have over the years and take a lesson. You lost one nil, not 6.

Thought our support today was class again. Nice to see Dickie Attenborough amongst the Telford support in the main stand if anyone else noticed him, sat next to some knob head dressed like he was going fishing and then spent the last 20 minutes of the match abusing his own players and then eventually leaving the stadium giving us the v's, much to our amusement.

Also nice to see Telford's 13 year old Green Street Elite crew, who came over for a nose then realised we have quite a lot of blokes in our support and did the off!

To top the day off, we passed what we thought at first was a Saga holiday coach, but then transpired it was a scummers coach. I think the gestures would have helped bridge the friendship gap between ourselves and our future ground sharers ;-)

Top day out.

I'm not sure about the rest of you but I am tired of hearing people banging the drum about 'scummers'.....it's boring. And before you say anything, yes I was in the old brigade all those years ago [and it was MANY YEARS AGO] We need to move on, forget the old rubbish and look to the future. Accept the fact they achieved promotion [and it still hurts] but realise that what goes around........comes around. We are a Club on the up, they are hanging in by a thread to their league.

Let's turn the page for next season and MOVE ON PLEASE.

Its great we managed to beat them today because we certainly didnt deserve to lose to them when we played them in August. Its good that we can pretty much say we are safe now

I agree with City Supporter's post that we should give the references to "scummers" a rest. I am also one of the old brigade from Longlevens days and I feel we should now move on. Let's not create any unnecessary atmosphere for the forthcoming groundshare, and hope that we attract some of them to our games. I certainly hope to be a regular again next season.

You are definitely on my wave length. Great news that you will be a regular again next season. Hopefully many more people will do just that !
There has been a lot of hard work behind the scenes just to get us to Whaddon Road. I sometimes lose my patience with 'loose cannons' who have no idea of the amount of time dedicated fans spend on keeping this Club in motion. The Manager/Players cant wait to play in Cheltenham.....end of story.

Next step is our return to the NMP !

Totally agree CS, although not involved I understand the amount of hard work dedication that the board and directors give and even Eamon direct has spent a lot of his own money and time to ensure that GCFC have the best facilities and team without going the way of Chester and many other clubs.

Local rivarly is what makes football special, take away that and you lose part of the atmosphere that makes watching football great. Whilst I absolutely understand and appreciate the hard work behind the scenes for the groundshare, lets not forget we arent playing at Whaddon on the cheap and they need the money. It's hardly charity.

I'm not going to apologise because they are our biggest rivals and always will be, everyone is entitled to an opinion. Let's agree to disagree on this one.

Well said that man. This prob the same people who were singing all the Anti - Chelt songs over Whaddon back in October.
