Just been down and at the momoent all is ok, however you can see the water creeping up sudmeadow road, so i should imagine that the worst will be happening by the time that this ordeal is over with! The new bypass from Over to Hempsted is now closed, as the water is in danger of engulfing the road!

So when do we need to be running down there with sand bags then?

If it floods as bad as it potentially can then i don't think there is anything that we could do about it! is just a case of wait and hope!

Having just got to my computer and checking my e-mails John Davis was calling for help in moving all equipment from ground level at MP early this afternoon. Apparently people in Sudmeadow Road were being evacuated as the water is creeping up along there. I'll see if I can contact John and see how things are at present.

John, David and Ian had to leave the ground at 2.00pm......guess by now the floods have arrived. As much as possible was moved, including mower etc.....what we now need is KING CANUTE:brickwall::brickwall:

At about 13.00 this morning, I headed off to MP picking up Ian Collinson along the way. John and some visitors he had joined us at the ground. We moved everything we could from ground level up to higher ground where it should be safe, under lock and key and of course protected from the alarm. As was posted on here earlier, the police were evacuating Sudmeadow Road and were keen that we moved away from the ground about 14.00.

I went down the ground again at 18.00 this evening. This was apparently high tide today. Water has made its way along the road stopping about 25 yards from the end of the factory at the entrance to the car park. The water appeared to be slowly creeping along the road, but the bulk was flowing off into the field behind MP.

Some of this is finding its way into the ground via the emergency gate along side the turnstiles. From here is is flowing along the terrace to the loos and groundsman hut. I suspect some has gone into the hut. From here the water is not going along the chicken run terrace but rather along the red gra that runs alongside the pitch. It is then pooling up in the corner flag area at the TEnd with some flowing along the TEnd terrace itself. When I left (19.00)the water was in some places creeping inches onto the pitch itself.

I tried to get out into the field at the back to see how wet it was but failed. The way in by the turnstile was a pond and our exit at the TEnd was locked to prevent unwelcome visitors. From what I could se it was very wet.

Everything that can be moved to high ground including the main kit in the groundsmans hut has been moved to high ground where it is locked and alarmed.

The next few hours are key and then there is a high tide due about 06.00 in the morning. By 09.00 tomorrow we should have a good idea how things have gone. Fingers crossed.

It's mad how quick a place can fill up with water. Too early to say but might have to do a Kings Lynn and have our first few matches away from home.

And there was me hoping that we'd escape, but no. If ever there was a reason to be moving grounds this is it

... ventured out to buy milk at 06:30 - it is no longer possible to drive to MP as Sudmeadow Road is flooded past the car park. The view from my bedroom window shows that the top of the goalposts are still visible above the water.

the water is up to about a foot below the roof of the machinery shed! I think that this could finish us!! They are evacuating the houses in sudmeadow rd so i would expect it to rise further!

...appears to be the same level against the goalposts, but Hempsted Lane is now flooded betwen Sudmeadow Road and Hempsted.

Feel gutted for you lot, all that work your management etc have put in, in getting some good players and all the work the supporters have put in getting the ground up together then this.
Looks frightning the amount of water at the ground and like you say Sheff wed had the same but they have the contacts and funds to sort this out and got the help of the fire brigade to clear the pitch etc, what about you, do non league clubs get the same help??
This really does make or break some clubs, fingers crossed for you lot and good luck when you can get back in there to start the clean up operation.

We didn't have any help last time from the Fire Brigade. Perhaps they will view us a little more sympathetically this time.

I BLAME the Glos.City Planners for forcing the Club to be built on the flood plain in 85/86. Everytime the Club suggested other building areas we were turned down. The favourite spot was the roundabout on the Golden Valley, opposite Elmbridge Court. To this day it is still free and the link roads would have been perfect.
