We couldn't have asked for an easier start could we?

Not to keen about Away at Merthyr on Boxing day, can't have everything though can we!

Second from last day of the season, Home to Kings Lynn. Could prove to be a BIG match :D

Neil

Could be a real title showdown in our penultimate game then!!!

a bit like the Redditch season!! except this time we get to play Ciren last game to win the title!!

I will miss the last two games as i am in Orlando!!

Tax v Lynn could be postponed if City are still in and drawn home in the FA Cup, or Tax are still in it by then. Don't think Lynn will be happy coming down here in midweek lol

Looks like a good start for you, why are there no SL games on 29/12, oh well you can all come and see us away @ Weston lol

And I predicted Supermarine and Rugby as the first two games, not bad hey as both are in the first 5 games :D

A reasonably good start to the season, A home game to kick it all off then a nice 10 min drive to Supermarine on the Tuesday night :D

And I fancy the trip to Bashley as well on a (hopefully) sunny July afternoon.

Some definate points to be won early on

We'll just have to be clear of relegation before we come to the party at the end

Hope so anyway, and a nine goal 'no worries' game like the one 4 seasons ago. On a bare, bone hard pitch ;)

Some daft pairings for midweek games - and some puzzling ones for the holiday games. But, there you go. Not that easy to do a list with the ground difficulties some clubs are having.

Yes, I'd imagine that people take for granted the work thats gone into devising those fixtures when you consider the requests that teams make to avoid clashes with other teams.

Good to see the fixtures, like the look of that home to KL, but we have got a long, long way yet until that. Christmas in Wales should be fun, the England flags out in force, I have a new 10ft by 7ft England flag that will be on show next season!

Hurrah! At long last, Cheshunt first up, a must win game straight away really. Then Swindon superroundabout-another game where to be honest we cant drop points. Merthyr away on boxing day... Bound to be postponed!

Had a look at Cirens fixtures and looks like Nov through till first week in Dec will be interesting for them with the following games:
KL
Tivy
Chipp
KL
Chipp
Glos

Or something there abouts (order may be slightly out)

Ouch !

Why is there no Sat fixture over xmas ?
That seems a it poor, got to be a good money earner for all the clubs with people off around that time and not a game in this leage to be had.

very odd

Nice to have a home game first this season. If we can win that at Supermarine away that will hopefully give us confidence and a good platform for the rest of the season - can't wait

Halesowen at home again on the August bank holiday, just hope the result is in our favour this time. Certainly is good to be starting at home again despite my predictions of an away fixture and who knows the penultimate game of the season against Kings Lynn could well be a title decider

To answer the question about Gloucester.

Such a coincidence that the new league sceretary used to be at Gloucester City.!!!!

Impartial?. My Arse!!!

This proves they have no idea what they are doing, and goes to show what a great job Dennis Strudwick did till they screwed him over.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I do not believe that Jason would show any favouratism to us and I think
when you look at the fixtures he hasn't, because if he had we surely would have got Cirencester at home over the Christmas period and not difficult games against Merthyr & Chippenham. We don't have an easy end to the season either with King's Lynn & Team Bath in the last three games.

I am sure it was difficult to sort out the fixtures with King's Lynn requesting the first seven games to be away games and ensuring that teams that ground share with teams in other leagues are not affected.

They are all complaining about the Christmas games and I sort of agree that teams should play at least one derby at christmas, okay it would be difficult for the likes of Merthyr and we are probably one of the closest teams to them and that is why we have them on the 26th December 2007.

I am sure everything that could be done was done and in the end of the day it shouldn't matter when you play any team. If your team doesn't perform on any given day, they will not get the points that they need to challenge the top positions in the league....isn't it just as simple as that ?

No matter what the fixtures threw up there would be someone moaning! You can't keep everyone happy and you just need to get on with it :D

The best team will finish top at the end of the season regardless of which order they play their games - we all have to play each other twice

There doesn't seem to be that many supporters irritated about the fixture list, most just want the season to start.

Chipps at home on New Years Day - if we're in the top 3 at that point, we could be looking ad a bumper gate. That and KL at the end of the season ... any chance of a return to the 1000+ days? Even for one league match that would be awesome!

Dr Wart Hoover
20th July 2007, 02:06 AM
...as for the accusations about the fixtures - I think it's pretty obvious that we have to play 21 teams who are worse than the 21 the other tems in the league have to play - twice!
