The warmest of welcomes to Keith ! I am sure he will have the fullest support from all supporters to help make his role at the club the success that we all need.
You could see Keith as another of Tim Harris' signings if you like, but thanks to the others who, behind the scenes, have considered and delivered this appointment.

I have to say that this could be the turning point for the club! This is what we have needed for a long, long time. A professional working with us to create not just the revenue, but also local recognition of this great club!

Excellent news! I believe Keith is a mean centre half as well, so hopefully he'll pack his boots

A professional working with us
Clifty has hit the nail on the head - "with" being the operative word.
So a little homework for all of us - give Keith some leads - companies you have done business with, companies that you work for, yourselves!
Keiths view is that he will work with people to see what they want and what we can do. If they can afford £50 then he will put something together for them, likewise if its £50,000!
Keith is a truly impressive guy to speak to, and WILL make a success of this, but if we give him the leads he will do it even quicker!!

Flip me that's a fair old set of credentials, haven't been this excited about a new season since they started selling faggots at the tea bar!

This is very good news for the club - and yes, this is the most important signing of the season for the medium-term future of the club.
Good luck Keith, although the one advantage of starting from such a low base is that even an extra fiver in profit will all be more than we've managed recently. :o Despite EMG's £ and that of the Trust we need more (ie. some :brickwall:) from the local business community.
Great to see the club willing to speculate to accumulate too - things are looking up off and on the pitch. Interesting times....

I too met Keith this morning. Seems a nice bloke, badly needed. Our manager is sorting out every department to get us off to a good start this coming season.

myself and Ali paid a quick visit to MP on Saturday and we too also had the pleasure of meeting Keith. He has some very good ideas and comes across as a complete professional. I am sure if anyone can do this difficult job then it will be him! If anyone has any sources that you feel is worth exploring then please let him know!

Why don't we find out every local company that has an advertising board at Kingsholm and give them all a call. If they have money to throw around down there then surely they could spare a bit for us?
Noah
9th July 2007, 02:20 PM
We are on exactly the same lines, here, Woody. I have said this self-same thing myself plenty of times. If we took 10% of what some of those companies spend on backing GRFC, it would make a great difference to us. Come to think of it, so would 1%.

Any local companies working for the MOD who manufacture land-mines ? MP broken into again over the weekend. That's about four times in the last three weeks. The local boy's in blue have been contacted, guess they might attend after the start of the season :rolleyes:
Wonder if Kingsholm had the same problem, their response time might be quicker.......
Woody

That is bad news, but you are right about the response. It makes you wonder what you pay your council tax for!

I always ask around C & G where I work, because they sponser GRFC and they give away free Cheltenham Town tickets and all sorts of stuff. They are the biggest local firm, it would be great to get in touch with them!

Yeah this looks really good, i'm wonder what the 'Stadium Naming Rights' are though. Is it Just for the remaining unamed stands or will be have 'Red Bull Park' or something like that as a full stadium name?

He said on saturday that he will do whatever it takes to get the money in, so if that means renaming the ground to........(whatever) and he gets £50k then he will do it!

Good to see you have spotted the pages - I shall be adding more as Keith comes up with the schemes, and we will be making them more prominent on the site once they have been developed some more.... I am still learning having taken this on from Jason :D
If you click on the e-mail links at the bottom of each page then you will get through to Keith - dont forget, give him your leads and he will do the rest....

Gloucester City Association Football Club is seeking to establishing long lasting partnerships with both local and national businesses. There is no point in beating about the bush. If we are to be successful it is going to take an injection of money that is mostly going to have to come from our community. In return we are seeking to give the City of Gloucester a high profile football club that competes on a national stage and represents everything that is good about our developing City.
We see the Football Club as an integral part of the growth of Gloucester as a business and commercial centre in the West of England, highlighting our local businesses on the national stage that football has become.
There are many ways you can market your business and support Gloucester City. Entering a relationship with the club is not just about supporting or sponsoring – it is a genuine partnership where we seek to give as much back as we receive.
Of course we already have a great Rugby Club in Gloucester. We have County Cricket to, with the Gloucester festival and as well as a number of good Club cricket sides. In the City, we also have athletics, cycling, martial arts, swimming, hockey, tennis and much more, including the famous cheese rolling which is always a national sporting news event. It really is a great sporting City.
Yet it is Association Football that remains at the heart of sporting life in Gloucester. Both playing and watching football remains top of the agenda when it comes to sporting participation, conversation and interest.
Gloucester City AFC represents the City within the football world and is the longest serving British Gas Business Football League Club. While in days past we played regular Southern League derby games with Cheltenham, Bath City and Hereford, Gloucester City have never really set the world on fire, yet have represented the City with pride since 1873 when WG Grace refereed the Clubs first ever match. We have a history certainly – but it is the future we are really interested in.
The coming season sees huge opportunities for Gloucester City AFC. With one of the best stadiums in the British Gas Business Football League, some of the best support and a team being put together by Tim Harris that will challenge at the top, 2007/8 will be a great time to be involved with the Club.
But we are not going to make outrageous claims. We are not going to say that an advertising board at Meadow Park will be on television every week … but we will claim that an advertising profile at the Stadium will occasionally gain media coverage and will reach the community. We will not claim that a corporate box at Old Trafford, Villa Park or Wembley isn’t a fantastic corporate facility while watching huge stars play some great football … but at Meadow Park we will give our corporate guests a great day out in a friendly atmosphere with our own talented players performing with the zest, enthusiasm and sometimes tremendous skills that come within our level of the game.
We need the whole of Gloucester behind us to link up with us as partners in the quest to take Gloucester City AFC to the highest possible level. It isn’t easy and to compete we need to secure our income. That has to come from the community and in particular the business community.
But Football is about enjoying it too – so we want to make sure that your support also gives you pleasure – that you really enjoy and become part of our successes.
We look forward to you joining us
This really impressed me, from the official site!

Keith is a dedicated man, and wants to put this football club 'on the map'.
If you think your employer might be interested in any of the packages on offer, then give Keith a call.

What really impressed me when we were reviewing applications was Keith's comparison with Wigan and the old attitude that they were a Rugby town. Too many people have used that as an excuse for too long, Keith said he wouldnt hear of it cos there was room for both to grow. I have always been of that mind too, so that really struck a cord
But he still needs our help, so give him the contacts.
