I'm disappointed to report that at work today i heard a rumour that Lee had signed for Cinderford Town next season. I immediately emailed him to ask him, and his response is below.....

How are you mate I hope you and all the rest of the supporters are well.

Yes mate have decided to attend pre season at Cinderford with view to
playing more next season. To be honest with you mate I am 29 and the only
way I will get to where I want to be is to play whether it is at cinderford
or any other local club. Even though I hardly played over the last two
seasons I enjoyed them probably more than any other in my career and i have
had a few clubs and a lot of seasons. The Gloucester supporters are a
special group of people who in my view are among the best I have come
across in the league and non leagues. I am also sure that with Tim at the
helm the group of players you have and the new signings that the club has
made the T END is going to be in for some great times ahead. I would like
you to thank all the supporters for me which I will do for myself when I
see them again. A Big thanks to Drakey for the sponsorship last season he
is top man tell him to keep banging the drum it does make a difference.
Through tough times over the last season we still managed to smile and have
a laugh which is what I am about but believe it or not I can actually play
.ha-ha.You never know clifty I might return in the future for one final
randall dance.

Let the good times roll for the city crew

I think that you will all join me in wishing Lee all the best at Cinderford next season! He is a cracking bloke, and maybe now i will make the effort to go to Cinderford if we don't have a game! Best of luck mate!!!:notworthy::thumbsup:

Best of luck Lee, football needs colourful characters like you. With some regular football I'm sure you'll show people what you can do.

Darkey - take note about the drum!

Best of luck Lee, a legend, we'd love you to stay but know you've got to go

Poor Drakey, the guy'll be in bits, but perhaps it was on-the-cards after he replaced his avatar photo of Lee with a picture of his dog

As pleasant, cheerful and engaging a player as ever laced his boots for Gloucester City. A man of the people !

Is he any good? what position does he play?

Neil

He plays wherever he can get a game but whenever he did play for City it seemed to be up front or in midfield. His set pieces are worth his place in the team though..

Couldn't agree more. Hard to remember a player who's made so much of an impact with the fans, especially having had a fairly limited impact on the pitch.

Hope he does well in the twigs, and although a shame for him to go hopefully he'll get a chance to play more often. Even more importantly I hope he's on the T-End when the Causeway is boggy - so most of October through to February....
