Obviously it brings back great memories, but when, as I am, you can look back in depth at the details it's alarming to see how those involved have suffered.

Firstly there is us, beset by financial ruin, relegated to below what was arguably our natural level and took ten years to get back, two floods and watching our local rivals prosper.

But what of our opponents?

3Q - Kingstonian are now a fallen giant and have suffered the indignity of losing ownership of their ground to their tenants. They also couldn't beat a stand-in goalkeeper on the day!

1 - Yeading. No support, they had to merge with local (rivals?) Hayes and move to Hayes' ground, although there has been some success as as a joined team they won promotion to the BSP.

2 - Halifax Town - They may have got back in the league after this game but since then have gone bust after years of financial hardship. From that game striker Geoff Horsfield, who went on to play in the Premiership has battled cancer and match referee Gerald Ashby died young.

3 - Runcorn - Another team that have gone bust after losing their (C)anal Street ground and merging to become Runcorn FC Halton (or something like that)

4 - Bishop Auckland - Not even sure what league their in, but they probably haven't fared worse than most of the others.

5 - Dagenham & Redbridge - The only success story cos the bastards beat us!

Added to that, Slough Town where we played the third game, they lost their Wexham Park home.

What a happy tale!!!
