I'd like there to be a supporters' table at this event on 16 October. Full details are on the official website. I'd like to take a table and then invite you as my guests, but I regret that this is not possible. Please give some thought as to whether you might, nonetheless, like to join up.
A table costs £320 and seats eight. It is by means such as this, and the recent golf day, that the football club does some of its own fund raising. As supporters, we put plenty of money towards the club and it's difficult to ask for more, but that is what I am doing.
It should be a good night. I understand that Bowden Hall is a good venue, and local for most people.

Must say this was a top night, Phil Bennet had a lot of hilarious and interesting things to say which I was suprised about, being an egg-chaser and all that. Joey Jones was fantastic especially his stories of his disciplinary record.
From where I was sat it looked as though Noah has a new best friend in Joey Jones, they seemed very pally by the end of it and I expect Mr Jones to be at Noahs for sunday lunch tomorrow. Either that or he was persuading him to sign for City as cover for our full backs.

I found him to be a top man. I think he took modesty to a new level. He reckoned his job was no more than to tackle and then give the ball to someone who could pass it. So that's how he won international caps, and won the European Cup with Liverpool ! He did have a poor disciplinary record, but he was a real gent to chat with. I liked Joey very much.
Same goes for the egg-chaser. In fact Phil Bennett was most interesting when he wasn't talking rugby. He was telling me how he, Barry John and Jonathan Davies played in charity football matches. They played alongside some Welsh greats, though these fellas were quite aged. He named Terry Medwin (ex. Spurs), John Charles and Ivor Allchurch as team mates. I was astonished about the last named, but Phil Bennett insisted that it was true. Allchurch, though over sixty (!) at the time, could make the ball talk, according to Phil.
Good guys, both of them.
