Here's another...
Which team did City, in the Southern League Cup overturn a 0-4 first leg defecit to win the tie on aggregate after extra time in the second leg. What was notable about the next time we played them at home?

I remember this amazing second leg. at Longlevens when Yeovil scored first, through their Hungarian Nagy and all seemed lost, but we pulled off a great win. I have no idea what happened in the next home game against them and am keen to be reminded.

I remember the fog descending down on Meadow Park that night and also their goalkeeper who time wasted so much when they were 4 - 2 down on aggregate but funnily enough couldn't get the ball in play any quicker when we were leading 5-4, 6-4 on aggregate - didn't Towner score 5 that game?

If you thinking about the replayed Southern league cup tie Trev then I remember it thus.
Sean Penny scored early in the first half but we then didn't get any joy. In fact when they scored on 78th minute (chap called Greening?) we all thought that the game was up anyway. Even the thought of a replay (as the thick fog that descended on MP got worse) seemed to be a bit of a waste of time.
Then up pop the Miracle Squad. Four goals in the last 12, on from Sticksy, Malpas couple(?) Sean Penny saw us through to extra time where Sticksy banged in the winner to leave us all shell shocked.
Not sure I've got the details right, but was pretty much that way.
Can't remember the 9-0, suspect it happened some years later?

Guess I did Neil, if you saw the Yeovil game then you would be at an age when the brain is not quite as alert as it once was.

The Cleric will know. I have a feeling that it occurred very soon afterwards, and that we beat them again.

I was at this SL cup final against Yeovil too, don't think it was my first visit but it is certainly my earliest memory of watching City. Just wish I'd kept my match programme, and all the others I accumulated over the years at Longlevens.
