I doubt anyone born after that great year will ever get to see an England team lift the world cup :(

Thats really shocking and really sad news :(
Of all of them you'd never expect him to pass away so suddenly, especially seeing how fit and active he always seemed.

A very sad day for English football indeed. I understand that the FA are going to honour his memory at the first game at Wembley. A fitting tribute to the MoM in English football's finest hour.
Having read the reports and tributes today, I found it astounding that he had to sell his World Cup medal and Cap to help his family finances. With all the stupid money that is around in football today, the FA should take a stand and make sure that our heroes from 66 are looked after and don't have to resort to selling such treasured possessions.
RIP Bally -

A top player and one I was lucky enough to watch when he turned out for Bristol Rovers at the end of his career. Even then he was quality - there was a lot more to his game than energy. Today players wearing black boots are the exception. Back in the 'old days' Ball was the only player to wear white boots which became his trademark. One of the first football 'books' I was ever given was Alan Balls Soccer Annual when I was about 9 year old. Happy memories of a fine player.

Lovely headline in a paper today, think it was the Sun "Gods taken his Ball back".
Saw him play a couple of times, hated his white boots.
Gone to join his wife, RIP

I see David Beckham has been asked to make a speech at the funeral.
Apparently he was chosen for being a dead ball specialist.
