On that, I would prefer to be in the south, but the BSN isn't that bad. Bear in mind the furthest game in the BSS (Dover) is nowhere near as far as the furthest in the BSN (Blythe).

I like the BSN but it might change if Gateshead get relegated!

By the way, the distances are from Meadow Park and not from Whaddon Road.. If it was then distance wise it would be pretty much the same.

In terms of attendances, although the South looks a lot better you have to remember that clubs like Eastbourne, Grays and Ebbsfleet would have benefited from being visited by Oxford, Luton etc.
Other than Woking and Bath and possibly Farnborough (although not if last season was anything to go by) nobody else would bring much support.
The teams in the north would have better travelling followings.

Could we have a poll?

South would be good, new grounds to go to, but I'm not really that fussed 2bh

BSN for me, I like the more friendly grounds as well as pie chips & gravy!

Dover might be less miles but doesn't automatically mean its a quicker journey

Dover's Stadium from Whaddon is 3h 24m according to Google Maps. Blyth is just short of 5 hours. I'll admit, however, that does not consider traffic, roadworks etc.

Cracking job Bob.

I've gone South, just because I reckon our new found Northern hardness will help us kick the shit out of teams in the BSS.

I am erring to the North. I think we play better when we play teams that are familiar, and a few teams that we ran out against with a bit of caution this year, will seem much more beatable next time. And i want to make up for missing Blyth!

That really is a top job Bob, but some may suggest you need to get out more! Not me of course as I believe that stats are the future...... Swindon based so having to go for the south, it adds 80 miles onto every away trip for me over you Gloucester based people, when compared with the BSS, plus my home game mileage is now doubled too!
Purely selfish on my part? Yes it is!

I only had to calculate the clubs coming down and up, as I did the mileage last season for the other clubs already in the divisions. So in my mind I'm slightly less of a loser than last season ;-)

South for me, new grounds to visit!

I live in Preston for most of the season so it has to be the North for me.

South for me, so I don't have to see my brother!I've mended that quote for you.

BSN :)

BSS would mean venturing into the unknown all over again and a lot can be said for stability.

Bob - nice one.

I voted Blue Square South - I think it depends which of the leagues you think we would finish higher up in.
Is the BSN not more physical than the BSS ??

Darran

I think we would do better in the BSS especially after a season in the BSN which would has helped toughen us up a bit. Also from a selfish point of view if I am still living in London at the time then I will be able to go to quite a few games.

I think stay north know the teams, travel arrangements costs plus better away support.

5th April 2010, 13:39
As a very infrequent visitor to away grounds, I might not be allowed to push for either, but I feel that BSN would be better. If you get rid of the extremes, the travelling is the same.

My preference is for BSS, but looking at the list more closely I note that, after Bath, our next nearest 'local' derby could well be Maidenhead, albeit fairly easy to get to.

now that we know the other teams, I'd rather stay put for next year. If we struggle near the relegation zone next season, then let's move south!

Home games are always key to a decent season. On our new bowling green surface next season where do the majority of the " Footballing " sides reside. BSS or BSN ?
