This isn't the new COF, I'm trying to recover the old database by my brain isn't clever enough for that.
Sorry for any inconvenience!

Fair enough. Good luck. I know how it feels to loos a lot of work like this.

Hope you manage to get the COF back up again soon. I know a bit about phpbb, but I've never used vBulletin.

It's not going to be possible to recover the old database although Redshift is working on retrieving certain aspects, so this IS the new COF now!

If you have the database I can do it for you Neil. You do have a good backup I assume

It's there, Redshift is working with it but it's too big to move to another server.
It's not a real problem, I just need certain things saving so we can use them when we start afresh

Sorry I can't be of assistance - I struggled technically with Wordpress, let alone a Forum of this calibre.
Hope it all pans out with relative ease! :)

I have downloaded an export from the old COF database, but it is huge (93M when gzipped), which is to big to upload again. It also has some extra tables that don't appear on the basic database - I assume from addins that Neil has added to the old vbulletin. I can extract individual posts from the database extract, and I think Neil has decided to start from scratch.

You should be able to telnet that across. I did exactly that when I upgraded my servers, but I do apreciate it isnt a small taks, and as you say, Neil has decided to set up again so I'll go and leave you all in peace.
Can we go back to yellow soon please? This blue/white combo makes me sad.

I'll create a new style, you should be able to choose from the pulldown menu in the bottom left hand corner

Got to say well done Neil (and RedShift) [gee, soooooo close to making my favourite Evertonian typo there ...] and thank you for getting CoF back to life. Have no doubt at all it will be as Tiger looking as before very soon
