Very interesting move which seems to suit all parties.
If London can have a Boris in charge then so can we!

Fair enough that Tim can't commit to being manager and everything else he did last season - glad that he is staying at the club as he is just the sort of bloke that we need.
Great opportunity for Boris and Adie and I am sure they will do very well.

I had a meal the other night in a restaurant where the waiter bore a strong resemblance to Boris. It was a good meal, and I am taking it to be an omen.

No, I didn't, Neil. The waiter, I should add, had a foreign accent. Expect an overseas signing imminently. Probably Welsh.

I think this might be a good idea.
Boris concentrating on the team, training, and coaching (which I presume already is the case) and Tim having time for his business commitments and still being able to help the club with signings and other club matters.

I have only been away on holiday for a week and things change!
Good luck Boris and Adie and Tim in his new role.

Could make for some entertaining post match interviews...........

Boris did a good interview last season after the match when Tim was away at Hereford Utd.
What will Tim be doing as General Manager? He understandably has his business to run and last season took a lot out of him. But what is his new role, will he be there on match days for example, is he going to do some scouting, will he be more involved in the search for the new stadium. I am not being negative because it sounds as though he still committed to the club, but the new title "General Manager" could mean anything without some substance or idea of what his role is, not much information in the press release.
But I am sure we all wish Boris and Adie all the best for the coming season, Adie Harris has been a fantastic servant to this football club in his playing career, so it will be a great opportunity for him to be more involved in the coaching and management side of things.

Without knowing more about specific roles, and without seeing how things pan out then it is difficult to offer anything but wild, unfounded opinion.
I guess all this has been made possible by the sponsorship deal signed the other day as I imagine this will mean an increase in the non-playing budget. Not a criticism, in fact could be a better use of funds than having the extra player.
As for Tim, I get the feeling he put his heart, soul and blood into the club last year and he needs to get some more balance between City, home and his work. You can't blame him there and I wonder whether part of the reason he decided to stay was conditional on this sort of arrangement occuring.
But let's not downplay the General Manager role and the hours still needed. Many of us fans know how much work it takes to keep the club going, let alone moving forward, and we probably only know the half of it. Tim is one of the most visionary managers we've had, so I think he may now get the time and chance to put these skills to more use. And the first job would be to try and get a ground, and give someone the time to foucus on this.

Its good to know that some of the workload has been taken off Tim but I hope it doesn't mean that he will take too much of a minor role in the coaching/matches, etc.
Kind of on subject, found this which runs down the 50 best non-league managers and Tim made it to 40th place!
http://digital.nonleaguetoday.com/ (Pages 10-11)
Find it hard to understand why people like Keith Webb (Kings Lynn) and Charlie Blakemore (Chasetown) made it so high when they have huge budgets to play with and in Blakemore's case, he didn't even get them promoted!!

Typical non-league-ism, start at the conference and work your way down. I could guess that Morrell Maison would be higher, but all he's achieved is not getting promoted with a group of players that are too good for this level.

And Garry Hill did well to keep Rushden ticking over so he's 24th.
Was this written during a teabreak or what?
Also have to chuckle at the letter included, very non-league too. "Why didn't you include my teams keeper?"!!!

I was going to mention this as i saw it when i had a quick glance at the paper earlier. I was a bit surprised they put Steve Fallon top although he did do a superb job at Histon. I thought it was good Tim got recognised though for the job he did.
It is an awful newspaper however and not a patch on the superb Non League Paper.

I didnt realise that. But whats the point of having the paper then if you can read it on the net? Also I love it when they say they have an exclusive story when the exact same story is in the NLP. Not really exclusive that.

Be nice to eachother, Mehew & Harris
