Obviously, the county are a forty over side. First win of the season today, against Derbyshire.

I am SO glad that the 40 over game has been kept on after seeming to under threat. It's the old Sunday League format that, for my money, has much to commend it.

What was good yesterday was the return of the old Bracewell-style aggression. Back when we were winning trophies, it was said our running between the wickets would gain us 20 runs a game and our fielding would save us 20 runs a game. We did the same yesterday and, when the margin is 50-odd, shows how important it can be. Terrific knock from Franklin, though.
