Great news, also looking foward to some news on the ground situation as well! As much as I doubt Preece will come to us as I'm sure other clubs in the league above like Newport or Worcester may look at him, Tim always seems to pull one out of the bag...

Fantastic news and a great relief that Tim is staying, we will all sleep a little easier now. The future still looks very exciting and that negotiations re. the new ground are apparently moving forward.

Thanks TIM.......without doubt you are this clubs greatest asset.
The Chairman has indicated that an assessment of certain structures within the Club are to be altered to lessen Tim's load, if I can help in anyway let me know. Should imagine Dave Phillips would be glad if a few other people stepped forward as well.

Brilliant to read and also good to see that Dave Phillips mentioned easing the pressure. I often wonder how he manages to find the time to juggle family, company and City.

I hope people are reassured about the ground development too. I've put my trust in the powers that be and I'm certain that they'll deliver.

FANTASTIC!

The best 'signing' of the summer, thanks for the loyalty Tim. I think the key things is for you to re-charge your batteries as much as possible during the summer (although i realise that there is plenty of things to do esp. re the player front)

I have kept out of the discussion to date, but was absolutely gutted when I read about the speculation. The season can now offically end on a good note, and can reflect on the achievements of the past year rather than worry (for the time being) about the future.

Have you all bought your end of season meal tickets - then you can say thank you to Tim personally

I think Tim took my advice and checked out the only stat that makes the difference :

Percentage of Newport County fans who wanted Tim 1%
Percentage of City fans who want Tim 99.9 or 100%

Now guys who would you want to be with ??

It's also good that the chairman is looking to take some of the pressure off Tim, he has enough to cope with managing the players and getting recruits. Maybe Dougie Foxwell would be a useful addition in an official scouting position and helping with coaching, he may help take some of the pressure off Tim.

Where we need someone is in the Marketing type roll, getting finance in, or we need a consortium of backers (surely 5 companies providing £20K a season would be a really good start) or one large backer but this type of person is very difficult to find these days.

I think the new ground is now vital, I am happy enough that things are progressing and it is imperative now that some announcement is made prior to the start of the season in August 2008. As soon as we know where, the club can apply for the relevant grants, the supporters can then do their bit and think up fundraising ideas etc.

I wonder now that Dion Dublin, Sherringham and alike have retired from the professional game would they like to continue to play in the Semi-professional leagues for a season or two. Dion would be great at the front or the back. There seems to have been a glut of these types of players retiring from the game this season.

Is this a joke? Both players were playing in the Championship last season and would easily both want more than our total wage budget! C'mon lets get real....

Oh and well done Tim on staying with City, you have made the right choice

that Tim would stay! Extremely pleased. Having read our Chairmans message, now is a vital time to get behind the club, Tim and not least, the Supporters' Trust.

Timmy Harris' Barmy Army!!!

Yes, the last paragraph was a bit tongue in cheek. Well certainly on our limited budget anyway.

But I think everything above was serious enough, like the 1% of fans on their forum that wanted Tim Harris as their new Manager. They didn't like his style of football, I think we could say a similar thing about the last season when Chris Burns was in charge - not very exciting play was it, hoof the ball forward up the middle mainly.

A big cup run to get some funds for a new ground would be great.
