Just to say that Jack has gone to have his ankle checked out. Early thoughts are a bad strain, but lets see what the docs say.... Jack was quite comfortable after a rest, though there was a fair bit of swelling. He came out to watch the second half before being driven to the hospital....

I don't know what all the fuss is about. I've inflicted worse on myself to see how much pain I can take, before doing a 24 hour shift down the mines, followed by a half marathon before breakfast.
Today's breed of footballers are too pampered.

Im taking a guess that it might be ligaments as it looks simular to what I did to my ankle a couple of years ago. If it is then it is a good job it was the last game of the season as it would take 2-3 months I reckon to heal.

I havnt Shandy no. Although I didnt do my injury playing football. However I was told by the dr that it would have been better to have broken my ankle as bones heal quicker than ligaments.

I hope after Jack's hospital visit it will be confirmed that he is not too badly injured!
Perhaps when the info is confirmed, someone would post the goods news on here!
Thanks.

Spoke to Tim re this - there is ligament damage, but no broken bones. Its too soon to assess level of damage (they will have to let the swelling go down first), but lets hope for a speedy summer recovery.
Will be updating news on Jack (and anything else thats happening) on the Official Site (http://www.gloucestercityafc.com/) as and when....

Like I said earlier I think he would have been better off breaking his ankle, but he should be fine for the start of the season.
