Talking, in the clubhouse last Saturday, on doing something out of the ordinary to welcome youse lot.

One suggestion was we ask a couple of (sober) fans to come on at the start, for the coin toss, and exchange a scarf on the centre spot. We've got one fan who goes home and away with his youngster and he would be up for it. He's a bit shy but persuadable. Personally, I think it is a nice idea.

The piccie would go in the Standard. If it is a slow news week, plus we don't get tonked by more than 20, that picture would go on the front page and start to embed in local folks' minds that there will be Prem Footy at the Corinium next season

What Choo Think? Anybody up for that, ideally with a youngster so we can also show that age group are more than welcome and safe at footy.

On a side point, and I'll freely admit I raised it, I'd really hope youse wear the black and yellows and not the manky away kit. It is so photogenic and makes a real impact.

sounds good like the Fa cup when they swap pendents before kick off

The whole point is to attract people to the ground, Joe. Not scare them away!

Nice idea, Pylonsider.

Great stuff - I'll pass it on. The fella who will be doing the 'sorting out' in our clubhouse before the match will be Dave Bougen. Everybody behind the bar knows him and can nobble him for you.

Wasn't my idea Tim, though it is a neat one.

My contribution to the day is that youse play in your traditional colours. So could youse lot get your Speccie Power working on that one now, eh?

Couple more points raised on the Cof. Dart board has been temporarily put to bed. We have one (young) fan who is a bit wilful so to protect the world at large the darts and board are taken out of circulation on match days. Same with the pool table, which anyway if in use restricts 'people space' on match days. We don't get many fans but they do fill the clubhouse before, during and after matches!

I'd imagine that next year, when youse are at home, you could arrange with Sue as to the advisability of activating what I've already noted is a keen pre-match ritual in the Green Man. Useful for me, visiting, cos I can always find Clifty, Shandy etc etc

Joe - may not use you for the scarf exchange. But deffo bring your boots and report to Adi at 1.30. We are that short of players, now!

The Academy have a biggie Cup Final. In Exeter. Just as well cos otherwise young Max would have embarrassed Muzzie and Ricco big time. Consider that a let off

Be careful Joe, the last time you stood in the middle of a field you were mistaken for a scarecrow

For pure entertainment value my choice would be you representing Cirencester, and Bully and lad representing City, on Kev's goalline:biggrin:

Would be fun. My youngest is 16, eldest 34. They cringe when Dad Dancing happens ..... somehow, don't think they'd be up for it! You wait, your daughter will be telling you all about it, far too soon for your liking. 8th Birthday party is about the standard time, for daughters

However, the conversation in the clubhouse on Saturday was about getting a real  Tigers fan. Bully is a Kev fan, though of course if Kev stays forever he would be allowed to convert to being a real Tiger

Yes please. Many thanks. Only downside: the Davie B you have to see in our bar, before the match, is a Man City fan. Approach with caution.

Only joking, he is actually a poppet. If / when we score he is the one on the PA system.

Shandy - stay close to our Davie B (just outside the bar, on the rail beside the small stand) and maybe you could have a practice before next season. Pint of Guinness for Our Dave would probably get you the mic for the whole of the match.

Better than a loudhailer - no problem hearing Our Dave on the Beeches Side of the ground
