FA Vase Final

OK, not really supposed to be on this bit of the forum, but my other passion is Lowestoft Town. A real team has made it to the final against a bankroaded Kirkley & Wesham (average gate 100 and owned by a big money merchant) I have a licence to play drums at Wembley Stadium (Portsmouth were denied that privilege!)... and hopefully MiniVac will be able to borrow Drakey's big one to add to the rhythm. Lowestoft are a side that thrive on the rhythm of the drum (rather than complain like some of our fan base - and apparently I am a celebrity over there!)

This is bigger than the KL / Tax Dodgers dichotemy ... I plead with all you real footie fans to offer us support (I was priveliged to make a 500 mile round trip to drum for the Tralerboys to overome the MIGHTY Whitley Bay in the semi-final --- and a mere 300 miles to assist in the victory over Concord Rangers (average gate 50, who couldn't cope with 700), owners of the entire Canvey Island and Sunday Sport - that was the ultimate fans extra goal!!! That probably was a bigger achievemant than Nortwood away when i broke my foot!)

May 11th is the date - the all-conquering Truro are out of it, Whitley Bay are history, any other big names from the lower leagues have faded - there is only 1 real team to back in this one ..

I bought tickets for last years final between AFC Totton and Truro City but didn't go cos it was raining on the day. I only wanted to go to see the stadium!

Should I waste my money again this year??

We currently have a dozen making the trip but to be honest things may be a bit blurred by the time we get to the stadium and I am only going for a look round!! Apparently Lowestoft had sold 6500 by Friday and the other team a massive 500!!

Never, ever a waste of money, Neil. The Vase Final is the true, proper, real grass roots non-league footy match of the season. Seen 'em all, apart from summer '75. And, this time, your option of who to support has been sorted for you by Dr W H. Do it, go on :rolleyes:
