They have blown it big time today after going a goal up against Grays and then losing 2-1. They were safe for 86 minutes.
Of course they will be first to be saved should anything happen to any of the other clubs.

Eastbourne scored in the 84th minute and Grays in the 86 minute.

Let's hope we get put in the south next season............

I'm sure someone will go bust/have a ground concern/played an unregistered player etc to save them as per norm from a deserved relegation.

Not really bothered if we play them next season or not, hearing 20 spotty kids singing about how much they hate us doesn't equate to a big derby that they seem to have created.

Salisbury will save them.

Or Histon who are also deep in trouble.
Come on Bob it would be our biggest attendance of the season if we did meet so I hope it happens and I hope they do get to go back where they belong although in my opinion they will get saved again but its still good to have them down conisdering they looked almost certain to be safe at the beginning of the day.

Worcester lost today, FGR are down so if they go in the South how will we be able to swap to the South? Who swaps with us?

I like the idea of playing them. Surely we'd take every single fan we have to their place when we play them?

But realistically- they'll get reprieved, or get put in the other league to us.

The FA rule book states that FGR are not allowed to be relegated

Rule 15: Under no circumstances are Forest Green Rovers allowed to be relegated into non-league status.

Can't really remember the last time Forest Green Rovers had 'league' status :p

There is also a very remote possibility that Cheltenham could be relegated....still just mathematically possible.

They have been trying so hard for a few seasons to get relegated, maybe next season Cheltenham fans

Chelt need to lose both games, with Grimsby winning both, then Barnet winning one of their other two (Accrington on Tuesday is a good possibility)... with an average gaol difference of over 3 in Chelt & Grim matches

Next sat, Chelt play Notts County (who may or may not have secured the title by then - depends twhether they can beat the bottom club on Tues) and Grimsby play a 6 pointer with Barnet. That could set things up nicely for the last game of the season.

Stranger things have happened, but I think it's looking Grim for the boys from South Humberside

Not a lot of sympathy on the conference forum

I'm especially please that Gloucester folk like "Foggy" had a long and depressing day on the train to see FGR get relegated.

will be interesting to see whether fgr will still have a dedicated reporter from the citizen next season and if radio chelt will be giving us equal coverage too

I won't believe they have been relegated until they kick a ball in the Blue Square South.

Oh well, missing that is what has sent them down! (hopefully!)

Look at those kids at the end, embarrassing.

I think they will somehow get saved from relegation (probably the demise of another club).

But Boris in his interview (who was being very tactful) probably hit it on the head, it's a wake up call to the Directors at The New Lawn, Boris said they need to get back to basics.

Nice one.

Those blokes going after Cockaday at the end really want to be going after their strikers. I'd have scored two of those sitters. Bottlers.

I'd have scored two of those sitters

..........unlikely

Joycie
25th April 2010, 20:16
I'd have scored two of those sitters. Bottlers.

One of those sitters was Jonathan Smith, you may remember was the lad who scored a 35 yard volley past Roy Caroll in our third round FA Cup match against Derby. Shame he couldn't score from 5 yards out against Grays...! But he's an immense footballer and will be rolling up with a Football League or top Conference club next season.

Meanwhile we'll be heading to the North/South. Which is best to be in? Better to have a Gloucester/FGR derby or for you guys to be 'northern' and for us to be down in the South?

Neil
25th April 2010, 20:27
If FGR do go down I want to be in the same league. Probably be north though.

NI-Branch
25th April 2010, 21:33
The players do not seem to be that bothered about staying North and in the end of the day, when we get into the conference premier, we will be playing teams from both North & South, so I imagine travelling distances may increase then.

If FGR were relegated and we did go South there would be some very tasty local derbies though (Bath City / FGR).

Neil
25th April 2010, 21:36
Mike Avery, the *new* Tony Kempster has us and FGR in different divisions. That would be shit.

Alex
25th April 2010, 22:05
Shit but, looking at the map, logical. Still it's not inconceivable that Worcester could stay south, and if Chippenham or Brackley win the play-off instead of Nuneaton, City & FGR could both be north.

Droitwich Tigers
26th April 2010, 06:59
The feeling up here is that Worcester want to go back in the North.

Darran
26th April 2010, 08:56
Am I being stupid or havnt Worcester been relegated so it doesnt matter about them?

Lee
26th April 2010, 09:02
Well you are stupid Darran regardless....but I was thinking the same, suppose it depends on Grays going down 2 leagues??? I have a feeling we'll only know the answers after strudwick and peake have scribbled a few ideas on the back of that overused fag packet.

tigermatty
26th April 2010, 09:10
As Boris stated in the interview, in terms of attracting players we would fare much better in the south, looking long term I don't think we would be able to attract the neccesary calibre of players that would be required to make a promotion challenge if we stay i nthe BSN.

Worcester City are confident they will not be relegated, with Chester City going bust, only three teams will be relegated from the BS Premier.

Yeah we know that but I dont see what difference that makes to Worcester.

Weston will be saved!

Droitwich Tigers
27th April 2010, 07:00
Yeah we know that but I dont see what difference that makes to Worcester.

OK then lets keep it simple.
If only three teams are relegated from the BS Premier and two teams are promoted from each of the BS North & South that leaves an inbalance.
Worcester having the better record of the teams in the relagation places will probably be saved.

P.S No further comment I surrender.

Darran
27th April 2010, 07:55
Yeah it said in their report that Weston expect to be saved. That is a disgrace any team that has only won 5 games all season should be relegated!

haha that is quality. Best YouTube video I've seen in a while! Someone should tell them what game their playing - some of the finishing would be a lot more useful down Kingsholm. Good on that man David Hockaday!
