Mostly revolves around why there is trouble at football and not rugby. See what you think, also notice a few cheap jibes aimed at our direction :tosser:

One thing I find to agree with is that clods like me can't understand the rules of rugby. Neither do I easily spot the eye gouging and the slaps among the forwards. Maybe the aficianados of the game develop the attenae to spot that.
I have occasionally been to Kingsholm, but not for very many years. One memory I do not cherish is of Malcolm Preedy and an opposing prop forward locked like stags for minutes after the pile up, sorry scrum down, was over and play was fifty yards away. Took a Shed-head to explain all that to me - since I am working class.

In fairness it is a fact that there is more trouble at football, I don't think that there are any insults towards out club in those posts, though. I actually agree with most of what is being said. Doesn't mean rugby is better though

I agree with Matty there was even a positive comment towards our club.
"It should also be pointed out that smaller league football does not get these problems. Do we ever hear of violence from Glouceter Tigers or Forest Green? The few FGR games I've been to have been fairly uneventful (but you do get the chanting and goading from some corners - but you get that at Kingsholm too)."

Supporters don't get obnoxious at the rugger cos it simply doesn't matter. Like I posted over there, I'd argue that there are more people at a Man Utd home game than there are at all of the rugby premier grounds put together on a saturday afternoon.

My sentiments entirely Neil. It's about passion and pride in your team and belonging as well as a love for the game. The great supporters we have who put so much effort in thru' the week as well as on match days prove it's much more than just a game. FOOTBALL MATTERS!!

Shankly said famously about football
"It's not a matter of life or death, it's more important than that"
He wasn't saying that football was more important than his loved ones, his family etc. He was just trying to get over how important football is to a Liverpool Supporter, nay, any football supporter of whatever team.
There is a simply priority list that I follow :-
1. My personal faith
2. My Family
3. Gloucester City Football Club
4. Work (should never be as important as the above but pays to enjoy them)
There was one comment on their forum about no one converting from Rugby to Football, well I did I suppose, in my early years I used to go to Kingsholm regularly until I was 8 or 9 years old and was introduced to City then playing at Horton Road. One match and I was hooked and have supported City since.
Although I must confess I did go and watch the egg chasers at Twickenham quite some years ago, I think it was a Pilkington Cup Final, from memory it I think it was against Bath. As usual at that time Gloucester lost. For all their fans, what have they actually won recently ?

Well, it seems that players of the Middle Class game are quite happy to get behind the wheel after having a skinfull!
