Would appear that Tim has made an excellent loan signing, if he has been offered a new deal at high-fliers Hereford then he must be pretty useful. Lets hope we can continue to create the chances.

Any player that comes from Hereford United will be quality. They are the sort of club that we are. Extremely well supported and passionate, and Graham Turner will only sign players with talent!

I think it's good news with the players who are unavailable for wednesday, it is also good news for Marcus Palmer, because you can be sure Hereford are going to have him watched regularly. It will give him an opportunity to show what he can do at a decent level of football, he was going to go out on loan at Bath City in 2006/07 season according to the Hereford Official Website.

Picture makes him look a little lightweight but apparently he's quick, we'll have to wait and see.

Hope he sees this as an opportunity to catch the eye of Graham Turner.

Excellent news - I think Will has looked rather jaded lately and this will give him chance to have not only a rest but come on as an impact player when necessary.

Tim did mention Palmer to me a few months back and it's good that he's a local lad from Abbeymead too. This can only be win win for everyone and hopefully will help forge better links between us and the Bulls.

I'm not entirely sure why you would wish to "forge better links" with us other than to take on some of our younger players on loan. However Graham Turner has kept a pretty tight buget and hence a fairly small squad of players since we turned the corner back in 2003(ish) so there may not always be the opportunity to take these young lads on.

From a Bulls fans point of view (and please don't take this as condescending as it is not meant to be - God I hate it when bigger clubs do that to us!) but many of us were hoping that Palmer would get some valuable match practice (we don't really have a reserve team) at Conference North/South level at the least. The saving grace here is that a) he's a Gloucester boy and b) you are, at least, pushing for promotion and thus still have much to play for.

Palmer may well be a significant part in allowing you to kick on and get into the play-offs from where you are now. Graham Turner has played the loan system suberbly well this season and has pulled a masterstroke off recently by bringing in two striker (McDonald from WBA and Hooper from Southend) who have potentially turned us from a play-offs/scraping an automatic promotion place into - dare I say it - possible 4th tier champion team. I certainly hope Palmer has the same effect for you.

Palmer recently scored 5 goals in a Herefordshire County Cup game in an 8:0 win over Ledbury Town and on the back of this got a few minutes at the end of one of the following league games but his problem seems to be that he has bags of speed but maybe lacks a little stamia to go with it! At the end of last season when we had nothing to play for he got a couple of starts in the league but had to be subbed in the second half as he was flagging somewhat. This will be an important move for Palmer; most Bulls fans feel that he needs to impress at yours to earn a contract for next season.

Good luck, We'll all be keeping an eye on your results for the remainder of Palmer's time with you.

Judging by Saturday's game we need someone who knows where the back of the net is, could be a vital signing.

he had agreed to join us on loan in march last year - after we lost partridge and walsh for the rest of the season injured - but after scoring a hat-trick in some floodlit cup game hereford decided to keep him

Would you necessarily be that interested in playing friendlies against us though. Surely the Bristol clubs or Cheltscum would be more to your liking? Although on reflection I supposed we would bring a good few hundred to your place (Gloucester or FGR) if a PSF were to take place.

Excellent news.

Let's hope he adds that clinical finishing to the attack because that's we've been lacking badly recently.

A partnership with Hereford would be quite good wouldn't it? Seeing as we both hate the same enemy

Back in the late '50s when City and Hereford were in the same (Southern) league myself and a mate travelled on the team coach to Edgar Street for a league match. At the time it seemed quite exciting for me as a young lad of about 13 to travel with his heroes.

Oh and the final score was 5-1 to Hereford. Chap called Maurice Milne (a very skillful left winger) scored City's goal.

Hate would be too strong a word. For us Bulls fans it's more a mild dislike even though they built a large part of their success in the 1990's by raping us of our better players at a time when we had to sell just to pay the utilities bills!

How wonderful to find someone who remembers how good Maurice Milne was ! All time favourite of mine, for sure. Another great winger of that era (who also doubled as a left back) was Jimmy Weston.

Yes, I remember Jimmy Weston too, excellent player and temperament. Good team in those days, with respect to today's squad, but I don't think they'd stand a chance against Westy and co. Then again, it's perhaps it's unfair to look back wearing those rose-tinted glasses!
