It's been a very long time since we heard anything about a new ground. Is there any news! I realise that these things take time but at 82 I'm impatient to hear something.

I think Oldie we need to hear very soon where we will be playing next season, as any new ground unless sharing with an existing club has no chance of being ready for August 2008.

Probably, sharing with Tuffley Rovers next season would be the best option, it's within the City and we will probably get nearer the 600 attendance figure.

I understand that they are taking their time with this one, not issuing any statements on possible sites before a deal is done and any interested parties are consulted. But could someone in the know at least put something positive about the search for a new site on here. I hope someone is keeping the pressure on the council because if they get the opportunity to drag their heals they will do, other things will become a priority.

Things are much more positive with Tim Harris as Manager, I don't think realistically we were going to get promoted with Chris Burns. We were unlucky not to in the Leroy Rosenior era, but he had a massive budget in relation to where Tim has taken us on a limited budget. We were 10th last year and I am now predicting us to finish 6th, still an improvement. A Play-off place would be the icing on the cake but we still have some difficult matches left.

It would probably be the best option if we didn't want a bar, a car park, or any access that wasn't down a muddy lane.

I think the chances of us playing at Tuffley Rovers next season are less than 1%. The only way we'd ever play there is if we bought the ground and did it up ourselves. We will not groundshare there- we won't be allowed.

Why's that mate? Believe me I've been to some utter dumps in this league, it was only 10 years ago I went to Salisburys old ground and they literally had a playground behind one of the goals, a small covered terrace along the side that was literally falling to bits and a hole in the fencing where everyone was getting in for free.

We were talking about these kind of issues on Saturday comparing the idea that FGR's ground doesn't pass SL grading criteria (no perimeter fence) whilst something like Lodge Road does.

You need to be in the Conference or the Conf North or South before you can start looking at capacities and supporter facilites because it the Southern League it seems that all of the ground grading stipulations are set with players and officials (referees) in mind and not the supporters.

I may be wrong but I think the referees room at the NL is deemed too small for SL standards too!

We've actually improved every year since 2001-02! Which is quite a good stat.

They'll be in trouble in about 3 seasons then, lol!

Ground requirements for Step B (Conf N/S). Basically:
1. Capacity 3,000 (with potential to expand to 4,000)
a). 2 Sides 'developed' (terraces or seating)
b). 2 sides covered.
c). Minimum for 500 covered
d). provision for 250 seated.
2. Permanent boundary surrounding ground (concrete, 1.83 meters tall!).
3. Clubhouse facility.
4. Car-parking facility.
5. Barriers 1.1m high surrounding pitch (inc. railings).

inter alia ad infinitum. Stupendously bored at work I'm afraid

I refer my honourable friend to the answer I gave on the thread about next season  Rest assured, loads of meetings taking place with the experts, loads of engagement with the movers and shakers (all of whom remain highly supportive), and things are moving forward - but these things just take time - so many angles to cover, and each of them need to be worked through thoroughly before the next can be tackled.

But rest assured, when we can make a statement about the site for the new ground then we will let you know instantly. In the mean time Tim, Dave Phillips and the rest of the Exec are well aware of the frustration, and have been hugely impressed with (and very grateful for) peoples patience. We WILL get there

Well, the FA's guidelines are pretty comprehensive though there is some room to manouver. You should have seen the requirements for ground grade 'G'. Essentially, you require a railing, a shed, 2 urinals and 500 capacity. Basically, Cinderford...

Thanks for that Mike and thanks for updating the front page on the official site. When I'm 90 (hopefully) I will bring my zimmer

I know what you mean, but there's no way we'd be allowed in this league or the league above without a bar and a car park. The fact that Tuffley Rovers has neither means we'd have to spend thousands building them. Whilst this would be ok if it was going to be our new ground forever, if it was a temporary stop-gap, it would be a massive waste of money.

I would certainly love it to be our new ground, but think there may be too many obstacles to getting us in there.

Doesn't british Gas own Tuffley Rovers ground? And, if I remember, they nearly lost it a few years ago when they BG tried to get them off. Perhaps i'm wrong, I usually are.

it used to be british gas land but is now national grid round there, not sure if they actually own that now though

Interesting story in the Citizen (http://www.thisisgloucestershire.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=231771&command=displayContent&sourceNode=231755&home=yes&more_nodeId1=231777&contentPK=19994059) regarding Crypt School's plans to redevelop their playing fields into several football pitches including astroturf and a sports pavillion etc. Some local residents don't seem keen about floodlights though! £1.5 million redevelopment. Could we not link up and push the development further ahead as a community football stadium complex incorporating Blackbridge?

I have to say I thought the lack of back page coverage with regards to city winning 5 nil away with 3 players out, a debut loanee scoring a hat-trick and the fact its a record away win for any team in the league this season was a bit measly by the Citizen.

Throw us a fricking bone hereDid you have your little finger to your lip when you typed that?!!

To be fair to the guy, he had a deadline of 9.45 pm last night and having phoned him details at half time for the first half I phoned through the second half at 9.50 so I can empathise with them for having had the back page already done.

However, I do hope they push us a bit more in the coming weeks and then I look forward to our eight page special on the monday after we win the playoffs

8 page special would have....

2 pages of gloucester rugby build up to the new season (starting in 3 months)
1 and a half pages of c******ham town (with "glorious nil nil" staying up poster)
2 pages devoted to Berry Hill, Cinderford, Lydney and Coney Hll RFC
1 page to us, with an advert for "CTFC free supporters buses-SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL TEAM" taking up half a page
1 page to Evesham who suddenly come into the region and get 3 quarters of a page with their promotion campaign, Bishops Cleeve, Cinderford and Cirencester take the little bits at the bottom.
Half page to Forest Green Rovers- full of desperate links of how C******ham are going to buy Stuart Fleetwood

Funny, didn't I suggest that ages ago?

I wrote to Parmjit Dhanda on the very subject a while back, which was when he told me in his reply that he was pulling back and letting other people deal with it; unless there is something in the offing which we don't know about, this could be another boat missed.

The positioning of this area would be great for The Tigers, but does anyone seriously think we can survive until a stadium was finally completed and we moved in ! This project will take years to get off the ground.

Methinks the Tiger would be extinct long before.
