After our great win against "team tax" on wednesday night, i was thinking what a shame it was that the attendance was so low. Obviously we all know its a long way to go from glos to FGR but With the great job tim harris is doing working on a shoestring getting us into the play-off places maybe we should be getting more. This time last year we must have been getting at least 100 or so more at home games and we were at the lower end of the table. If they were true city fans then they would make the effort to get up there. I just dont know what we can do to get the crowds in:frown:
Any way here's to a good 3 points tommorow

Unfortunately there are a few things that contribute to this..
1. The distance
2. The attitude of certain people at FGR has made some fans feel unwelcome
(and this is a FACT!)
3. Unfortunately the local media is of little help to us. For example the back page of the citizen on thurs was a story about players being fit for GRFC for Saturdays game?? If we cannot hit the back page by beating the league leaders and reaching the play-offs, then that says it all. I also tried to contact Servern sound and told them about the result and what it meant but they are not interested!

Your local media are a bunch of :tosser:s
I have mentioned before that Submarine and ChipsnHam get very good coverage from the local Swindon paper and Radio.
Big page spreads on Supermarine, post match interviews on the radio. It really pi$$es me off that just because your City is made up of a majority of egg chasers, the local football club don't get a look in.
They should be ashamed of themselves.

They should be ashamed of themselves. They aren't!

Thats because they are unprofessional in the way that they are run, edited, and monitored! We all know that the Citizen loves GRFC and kiss's their ass, and we all know that the cock who does Radio Glos is a scum supporter!
Even FGR get little publicity considering that they are a conference team!

It's a shame but the Citizen is more interested in 5 days of build up for Gloucester RFC splattered all over the back and almost a Sun like spread across the front of some bird with her baps out waxing off about Ryan Lamb calling her names. zzzzzzz

How have people at FGR made you feel unwelcome? Is it the stewards by anychance because they have tried for years to get me banned in the end our vice chairman had to had to have a word with them and tell them to ease off!

The stewards and the bar staff i believe have been the main problems. Even i have had walked away from the bar thinking "it is so obvious they don't want us here". In fairness the young girl that is there now is a friendly smiley lass!

Yea as Clifty said there seems to be a oh god its them again feeling from the stewards, bar staff etc. The whole only 2 sides of the ground thing grates, why cant they open up the new stand then and close the rockwool off when we are shooting the other way? It's no that difficult to implement is it, they just dont want to basically.
Out of interest how many people do you normally have serving for a league game in the greenman and how many stewards do you have in the ground?

Some people may feel like that but to be honest If you lot were not playing up there they wouldnt have that extra days wage would they! They treat the home fans like **** take this for example.....The other sunday wen we played crawley town (KO 19;30) man utd were playing man city there was a few in and then the barman wanted to put the ****ing rugby on! It took nearly all of us in there to complain before he changed it! :tosser:

That exact same thing happened to us after a game. As usual you want either BBC Final Score or Gillette Soccer Saturday on to see what the scores were around the leagues....and they had Six Nations Rugby on! I mean, what kind of response do you expect to get when you put Rugby on in front of Football supporters?
I don't really have too much problem with the Stewards, they all seem friendly enough...but the fact that they banned Drakey's drum seems very unwelcoming.

Going back to lost supporters, Kings Lynn are expecting anything between 1300-1600 for their game against Halesowen tomorrow

I think the location is the prime factor for a certain proportion of the 'missing' support. Back when we were in Gloucester there were probably a fair few people in the crowd who would attend 4 or 5 games a season spontaneously because it was something to do on a saturday, not far to go, and you can walk into town after and get on the lash. I know that I for one haven't been to as many games this season purely for that reason, and to make it worse I'd not long moved to a house 15 mins walk from Meadow Park before the floods!
As for FGR's hospitality, it's just petty sadism: once they were below us, now they are above us and we need their help so they want to make us suffer even more, and if we complain they'll remind us how lucky we are to have somewhere to play. We just have slowly edge our way back into contention without them noticing, and all the while the sword of Damocles will be suspended perilously above their heads until we reign supreme and crush them like bugs as we laugh off claims of hypocrisy.

I wonder how much of it goes back to when we signed Kevin Willetts from them?

For me it's just too far to travel to FGR and it's as simple as that.
If it was a straight drive down the motorway from junt13 to 14 I'd attend more often. The people I've spoken to around and about Glos regarding playing at TNL just aren't interested in the journey to Nailsworth either. A lot are interested in City's progress, but to all intents and purposes, don't hardly ever pass the City boundary
To top this we move to a stadium that hosts a much better quality of football so not too much hope of picking up more local support. It's got to be a move back home as soon as possible. Interestingly The Maggots are complaining that they've lost a hundred or so fans... So where's everybody gone to?... Gillette Saturday Special maybe...

It will be a long time till you reign supreme mate! I was speaking to colin gardner before the stafford match and he said that you WILL NOT be playing at FGR next season so maybe your crowds willl improve when your sharing cirencester's ground!
REIGN SUPREME HA THATS A GOOD ONE!

This makes me just a little cross, that everyone seems to have this knowledge apart from ME. As a Trust Board Member I will have a few questions to ask at this afternoons game !

Just to let you all know that the clubs position remains the same - there is no deal finalised with any party for next season. We are working hard to get the best arrangements for all of us and no option is off or on the table yet, and negotiations are ongoing - but as always these things are very complicated and multi-sided, and take time. Speculation before the fact seldom does anything but complicate things.
We hope to have a deal agreed soon, and when we do the supporters of the club will be the first to know what the plans are for next season (as is always the case). Until then please trust that we will come up with the best possible solution for all of us. After all, as Drakey said, we are a small close-knit band of supporters, whatever our role at the club, and we all want the same thing - a yellow and black future

I am one of those guys who would have (if you had still been playing at meadow park ) popped down a few times to watch a game of football on a saturday but I Havent been to see city for ages .
But by the way you all talk about the way you get treated at the Lawn I wouldont want to .
I wish you luck in your quest to get promotion and on obtaining a new home in the future.
I might get to a game before the end of the season but then I maybe accused of not being a fan and just jumping on the band wagon cant win.

We have had the pleasure of one long lost supporter,he was at the Team Bath and Yate matches.
He was one of the bunch of Chelt fans who used to go to all matches home and away and paid lots of visits to the Social club.
Unfortunately when Chelt got promoted instead of us they started supporting them.
Anyway,welcome back Jarrel!
