From the Hemel site:

An interesting comparison between us and Gloucester is that on Fri Nov 16th we were top of the league with 28 points from 15 games,Gloucester were 23rd with 11 points from 13 games. Now we have 41 points from 30 games and they have 44 points from 28 games, that's some turn around.

Take a bow Mr Harris

It really is hard to believe what the club have achieved against the odds this season. Long may it continue.

Indeed. Couldn't have hoped for this pre-season. Just remember the hopelessness. All we need is a ground and we can push on!

It wouldn't have anything to do with a £3,000 a week budget would it!?!?!?!?

Out of interest what is a reasonable estimate of the team budget for Gloucester City at the present time?

Slimbridge had an estimated player budget of something like £1500 a week I believe last season, so I would guess more than that.

That figure has been about average for the past few years now and the only time I'd imagine that it ever spiked was when Tim had just joined and we needed an extra bit of quality to ensure our survival.

Tim, Boris and Adie are doing a great job now, imagine what they could do with double the budget!

Where on earth did that figure come from ? !! Havn't stopped laughing.
No BP, it comes from the players WANTING to pull on the yellow/black and play for a Club that's not only about football but much, much more.

Or, some of the fans who said they would subscribe to Jo's Fans Pot doing just that !

With a playing squad of barely 16 (when all are fit), many of which have been signed directly from lower leagues, colleges, or our own youth team, I think that figure may be a little wide of the mark.

The new Indian Cricket League where each franchise has an equal amount to spend would be an interesting model to copy if it works, providing a "level playing field" for everyone to compete on. But somehow, the haves and have nots provide a lot of the spice that is good in football. It just seems the amount required to run a side at the lower levels is driven up by the demands at the top end of the game. Fair play to the team of players and volunteers at Gloucester, an example of everyone pulling in the same direction where lack of income is being overcome by pure will in the face of adversity.

I haven't seen a game yet this season but fully intend taking in a few before it ends.

Thought for one minute I had slipped into a coma and woken up on the 1st of April when i read that. I wish it was 3k a week. the exact figure I do not know but I would gladly bet it is much lower than the figure mentioned. Whilst i'm posting just want to say a bit thank you to those who have kept this club going both on and off the pitch, i won't embarass or single anyone out in particular because they know who they are but once again a huge thank you. The efforts this season have been incredible but please please we need more people to help out with the supporters funds drive that has been launched to keep the monmentum going and who knows extend the season by an extra 3 games
