Fulham have sacked manager Chris Coleman and his assistant Steve Kean with immediate effect.

Northern Ireland manager Lawrie Sanchez will take over on a caretaker basis for the remainder of the season

Bit Strange so late in the season, there is only 6 games to go. Surely the one thing you look for when your down the bottom is consistancy?

I disagree. The are effectively only 3 point off the drop zone, and falling fast.

I think it's a harsh but brave gamble to take, but if it shakes up their form and gets them safe, it'll save them £30million in the process.

Crazy. About 5 games left and they've decided to sack the manager now at such a crucial stage in there season? I genuinley hope they now get relegated, not just because they are our closest rivals but I've always liked Chris Coleman, Good young manager who i felt worked well with what he had, Fulham are a poor team, with poor players, a poor stadium and have fairly poor fans. Coleman was the only good thing they had going, As i've said, I really hope they go down now. :D

I liked Coleman too. He's done well at Fulham with little money to spend. He'll do a good job elsewhere.

When Al Fayed took over, and when they reached the holy grail of premiership football it looked as though they could be challenging for honours. But after the nightmare waste of money that was Steve Marlet, Fayed has given little money to play around with and looks as though he's bored of his play thing.

Coleman was a very passionate manager who in given some of the fairly average players they have (Knight, Radzinksi, Pembridge, Volz, Pearce etc) has brought the best out of them and perhaps overachieved to an extent.

I think its a really rash decision and one that they will probably regret.

Fulham need to be replaced with a Championship club, they haven't improved or moved on for the past couple of seasons.

Very brave move to take to be honest, if it fails then its hard to see Fulham getting promotion back to the premiership and then of course there's the loss of revenue. Coleman wasn't a bad manager in my opinion and did the best he could on the resources he had

Fulham need to be replaced with a Championship club, they haven't improved or moved on for the past couple of seasons.

And that club will be the mighty Sunderland.
