The Seconds game at Warden Hill seven minutes before half time; due to the fact the sky went absolutely black and for safety's sake the ref abandoned the game.
The pitch was very wet in places, so bad that Meheren had to wear a Mae West in case she fell in any deep puddles. It was very bad around the centre crcle and the end nearest the brook.
The score was 1 - 1 when the game was abandoned, Warden Hill had taken the lead with a controversial penalty, alledgedly one of our players used an elbow to clear the ball off the line from a corner. Vicky Fyfe in goal was millimetres from making a save. Immediately City hit back with a long shot from Ruth Thompson - Davis, which the Warden Hill goalkeeper should have saved. As soon as they kicked off and the ball went out of play for a throw in, the ref called the captains together and abandoned the game.
This was the only game in the County League that even started today, so more stress for the Fixtures Secretary aka me.
