My Dad has written a book about the 'Pioneers of Gloucester City Association Football Club' from 1883-1914. The book includes Results and League Table statistics as well as the Story of how the club was formed (and reformed) and the struggle of establishing a Football club in an area where Rugby is dominant. The book is the celebrate the Club's 125th anniversary celebrations.
The book is 108 (approx.) pages long, and from a biased point of view a fascinating read!
Priced: £4.99 with all profits going directly to the Gloucester City Supporters Trust.
It can be bought from the Club shop at Forest Green on Matchdays (from December 4th) or from:
TigerTimbo Publications, 2 Rosemary Close, Abbeydale, Gloucester GL4 5TL
(£6.49 p+p inc., cheques made payable to TRD CLARK)
Thanks in advance.

This has been a labour of love for the author but it's going to be of great interest to all City fans. It shows you just how long we have fought for this club and should give us all the incentive to get in the faces of those who might help us.
Please buy a copy for yourselves, and buy one for your local councillor. I know the Citizen is very interested.
Well done to the author. I have three copies on order.

Great stuff! Is this the first time a publication has been produced solely about GCAFC (excluding mathcday programmes and fanzines of course)?

I'm looking forward to picking up my copy on Tuesday.
And no, you're forgetting "Tiger Roar", "Paper Tiger", "Johnny Murphy's Barmy Army" and "Tigger Snigger"!

No, there have been three handbooks : 1939, 1949 and about 1957. But this is a different take, and so it's not mere repetition. I've been privileged to see an early draft. If this venture goes well, there may even be something to follow.

Great stuff.
What would these handbooks of the middle ages consist of? Season review or history of the club?

Good stuff from our very own Cleric. I have added it to my Christmas list in the hope Father Christmas thinks I've been a good boy again this year. If he doesn't give it to me I'll rob the fat git.
