Averaging around 500 at home, similar to Eastbourne last year and we know what happened then...

A tad disapointing draw.Dunno what their away support is like but id be suprised if they bring more than a 100.Still a game where we arent massive underdogs.

Looks like Bashley got the plum tie, Torquay away.

A definetly winable game, Braintree seem like a decent side and will be a difficult oppenent, but with the Hostile T-End behind us, we can beat anyone!

Home to Braintree Town

Okay, would like it to have been Torquay,. But this could be a winner for us at HOME, more money in the POT and on to the next round.

Hopefully we learned from Eastbourne last year and can do enough to sneak a result against Braintree and go into the hat for the second round. I think it'll be a really hard game though :(

....but we are HOME Neil, or what passess for home.
Braintree squad may be overcome by the Stadium and amount of Stewards wandering around the ground !

I think that this will be a very tough game, might be worth speaking to some of the Bath fans to see what they are like...

Doesn't look like they will bring alot of support either and it's a long way to go for a replay!

its tough, but its winable

We Have £8750 Cash Money (From Fa Cup& Trophy) and if we Beat Braintree we will end up with £12,750 and we would be guaranteed a conference club (unless we see big shocks) in the 2nd round and we would get atleast a 2,000 crowd

I didn't think the Conference teams care too much for the FA Trophy 'til it gets to the Semi Finals.

Not the ideal draw from a financial point of view but if we can win this it would be a nice bit of prize money and hopefully then we can get a team with better support in the next round

I may be being a bit optimistic but if we win the comp then we secure European football for next season. Surely that's got to be worth hanging on to?

I was speaking to one of my teachers (A Bishops Stortford Fan) at school today and we got onto the topic of Braintree.

He said they're a big, rough, physical side who like to play the long ball game, he also said their fans aren't the friendliest bunch but do travel in fair amounts.

He reckons that if we can rough them up from the beginning they'll play into our hands.

Thats my scouting done :D

Strange, they link to a forum and not a topic quoting a quote that doesn't exist, no-one said that they won't be too hard to beat. The disappointing thing is that they aren't Oxford, Torquay or Kiddy which would've given us a very good crowd.

And I'm not sure about them veing "Little old Braintree" either. I'm pretty sure they are or were professional, unless I'm confusing them with another club in Pete Beale country ;)

This made me laugh from the Gloucester forum "I was speaking to one of my teachers (A Bishops Stortford Fan) at school today and we got onto the topic of Braintree.

Obviously the Airport Car Park Fan (I mean Bishops Stortford) hasnt seen us play since Patto has come in with the attacking passing football we are playing at the moment. But didnt we beat stortford "with the long ball game?" coming from a stortford fan what a joke all they do is play the long ball.

Looks like a Braintree fan has took exception to the views of my Geography Tutor!

"Seam more bothered that there not going to get much money for drawing us, oh well better take the big coach. They seam to think aswell we haven't sean a steward before! Sound like a bunch of idiots to me."

The Braintree manager won the BS South November manager of the month, this award often appears to signal a change in fortunes.
