CITY SIDES PROGRESS IN FA COMPETITIONS
Pride of place this week must go to the U18 squad who have achieved something very special, in reaching the First Round of the FA Youth Cup. In the week we beat Merthyr Tydfil 1-0 in Wales to set up an exciting fixture away at Swansea City. I cannot recall exactly the last time we reached the First Round, Kenny thinks it was getting on for 10 years ago. Our opponents that night were Southampton, a side that included a young Shayne Bradley who is now doing so a great job with our U12 squad.
A BAD DAY IN THE OFFICE
Oh dear! I don't have all the scores to hand, and again the U14 result has not come through, but all our sides lost today. The 15's lost 2-1 to Shortwood (or as they are now called Stroud) and the 16s lost 5-0 to Sutton Coldfield. Over at The Spa the 13s lost 3-1 to Worcester. The 12s lost at Tividale but I don't know the score
